In this case, they realized that there was an issue and without knowing anymore than that, they said "all LS3 cars get bayed until we can contain this problem".

In other words, it could very well be a batch of cars or every car after VIN xxx. That is what GM is trying to establish before letting them all go. How many manufacturers would have done that? Most would have let them all go and blamed the owner for the breakage.

We just have to look at how Nissan handled the GTR for a fair comparison - if GM was Nissan and the Camaro was the GTR, we would all be getting a "screw you, you abused the car" response from the warranty folks.

We really have to decide as a group of enthusiasts which approach we want from GM. If we want Nissan's way of doing things, it would take GM about an hour to give us it.
I agree, point is that I feel that the First year Bug may pleage the 2010 Camaro and I and others may wait for the 2011, Let them work out the Bugs then get one... since the 2010 has had SO Many issues I may wait thats all I am saying

Well here is my 2 cents...GM is doing the right thing by holding the cars; yes, I hold them responsible for any of their supplier problems (I'm in manufacturing and would expect my head to be handed to me if I tried to tell a customer that is wasn't my problem, it was my supplier's problem). As for never doing 6K launches...isn't this a performance car? I've done heavy launches from time-to-time in my 1967 Z-28's...and now 42 years of technology later the car can't handle it? I'm sorry, that's just not acceptable to me. I was at the dealer on Saturday finalizing my factory order...I think I'll wait a few months now to see how this car stands up...

And GM has been shut down for 2 of the 3 weeks. You have every right to be frustrated. Especially if you are an R6P order. And I wish there were something Camaro5 could do to get you the car ASAP. I'm reaching here, but the positive in all of this is they didn't rush your car to you to get paid. At least they are willing to risk loosing you as a customer to get your car absolutely right. I haven't had to go through what you are going through. But I'd be glad that my car didn't get rushed through and is getting the appropriate attention it deserves.

FWIW.

Then I have to wait however long from then... :(

Well He may actually get his car earlier than he would have if we didn't have M6 cars caught in QC. If the M6 cars that were allocated ahead of him are indeed caught in QC hold then his auto or V6 will be delivered ahead of them but it won't be built ahead of them...

Make sense?

Some valid points however i believe GM is taking responsability for the situation and not trying to pass it off. It is a supplier part creating the problem but GM is the one trying to make things right i think.

Just an FYI to all you M6 SS orderERS... I got confirmation from the chevy customer assistance that my car is in the process of being built. Yesterday I was told it is in the production department but not yet started and today they said it is in the process of being produced. Sounds like good news.

Maybe, JUST MAYBE, the M6 SS Camaros on the line now are being built with the correct tranny/output shaft and the need for QC just relates to those built prior to the break. Just my opinion.
