don't mean to question you dragoneye, but could you provide viable citation? i googled it and found many places quoting ls1 and 2. i mean, it would only make sense they would use the 2 that was already in the Goat, but you never know. just curious.

(pics of the LS1, too. )

It wasn't a "pure" GTO chassis. They modified it so it would fit the Camaro body's dimensions.

The Bandit Trans-Am and KITT should definitely be in the top 10. Magnum's Ferrari and A-Team's Van and Face's Corvette convertible. Those were all extremely famous, granted some are from TV-show's however all of those TV-show's were filmed using film...

*Note* I picked some of these because I'm biased.

"Trigger" Smokey and the Bandit-1977 Pontiac Trans Am
“KITT” Knight Rider-1982 Pontiac Trans Am
“Bumblebee” Transformers-1976 Chevrolet Camaro
“Bumblebee” Transformers-2009 Chevrolet Camaro concept
xXx-1967 Pontiac GTO
“Eleanor” Gone in 60 Seconds-1967 Mustang GT500
Bullitt -1968 GT Mustang

“Bluesmobile” Blues Brothers- 1974 Dodge Monaco
Magnum P.I.-1979 Ferarri 308 GTS
Starsky and Hutch-1975 Ford Gran Torino

good no?
Am I missing any nick names?

What surprised me was, there was no good Corvette movies.
Here are some you forgot.

Herbie: 1963 VW Bug (The Love Bug, Herbie Rides Again, Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo, Herbie Goes Bananas, Herbie: Fully Loaded)
Ecto 1: 1959 Cadillac Hearse (Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters 2)
Christine: 1958 Plymouth Fury (Christine)
Batmobile: 1959 Lincoln Futura Concept
Monkee Mobile:1966 Pontiac GTO Convertible (The Monkees)
Dragula/Munster Koach: Modified Ford HotRod (The Munsters)
Shaguar: Jaguar E-Type (Austin Powers)
Deathmobile: 1964 Lincoln Continental (Animal House)

(BTW, Austin Powers II had a 1965 Corvette if you were looking for one)

First off, many of the cars folks mentioned above were not really cars on Film, but television cars. (Yes, I understand TV shows are recorded onto film too, but generally when you refer to 'film', it means movies produced for the cinema, not television). That knocks out things like KITT, Magnum's Ferrari, Starsky's Gran Torino (yes this was made into a movie, but it wasn't the movie that made the car famous), the General Lee (movie was horrible, don't even try to go there!), etc.

Secondly, the list is clearly tongue-in-cheek, based on what the cars could do in the movie setting. While Bandit's T/A was cool, it was just a car. All he did was outrun Jackie Gleason repeatedly.

All that being said, I definitely agree that Christine should be on there.

Gee! What about John Milner's Coupe and Falf'as '55???? (American Graffitti)

The Eleanor(from the later version of Gone in 60 Seconds) while a nice car, is a pretender of cars that never existed in the '60's. I would go more for the original Eleanor from Halicki's original Gone! The beat the heck out of that car in the movie.

Check out this link for Hot Rod Magazine's Article from a few years back.

http://www.hotrod.com/thehistoryof/h...ies/index.html

It inspired nme to go out and obtain every one of the movies listed and then some!
