Engine cover
This is the intake insulator - I suspect it's primary purpose is sound attenuation but it would also insulate the intake from underhood temps (however it would hold the heat in transferred from the heads). However it is definitely removable and I took it off my car when I upgraded the intake primarily so that I could ice the intake down in between runs. Anytime I am racing the car I remove the engine cover to eliminate any heat buildup, primarily on the drive to the track.

Does anyone know of aftermarket fuel rail covers like the ones on the LS3 vettes that can be bought with something else on them besides Corvette? Seems like some aftermarket company would be all over this???

Instead of the laser temp gun.... did you try turning your ignition key to see the reading on your temp guage? STL... Seattle? I would start worrying about the engine cover when all the Southwest guys start complaining about the engine overheating... Arizona, New Mexico, Texas... until then - just look at your temp guage every once in a while. |

Been nice if the heater hoses would of been routed different, I've seen some smaller covers that just cover the coil packs. Might of been a LS1/LS2 motor. Speedys cover looks good/Has that SRT factory look
