OK - think about this: Go to Camaro5Fest - and find me ONE car that hasn't had some sort of modification done to it. Some of them I find gorgeous or handsome or spectacular or awesome --

And some of them -- well........... but as long as the owner likes it - well.....Meanwhile -- Do I come up to your car and yell:

Of course not.

If you don't like it - don't put it on......and if someone DOES like it - that's their perogative.

Someone asked why it's bolted on - read Al's remarks -- you can remove it.

And yes it adds to the downforce -- and that's a very small part of what makes this car a wicked monster.......!

Much cleaner look on this one!

The earlier mentioned 2011 SEMA car with the spoiler.

Second picture shows exactly what I was saying with the extension being built into the spoiler.

There is no question that this car is special. That does not mean it's beyond critique. I get the functionality of the blade. I have no issue with it being bolted on. I just think it could look a little more refined to match the rest of the car. I get that it's a race car. It's just the car looks amazing in very other regard. A little more finish and nobody would have said anything other than wow.

Maybe the car will have different height rear spoilers for different amounts of downforce at select tracks. Might be easier to change in the pits.

I agree with Blue Clyde on the refinement but for the Z28 I think the functionality of changing makes sense, but personally for the ZL1 like the OP suggested I think the car is so refined as is I can't see it especially if it hasn't been tested on the ZL1.

Sexy! I wished it was an option when I seen this. If this had been bolted on, I still would like it.

Al made the comment it's bolted so you can remove it. So that right there is perfect for those who dislike it.
