Does anyone know if a 3" cowl hood will clear the intake ?

Im sure it would. The main problem is the interference where the weatherstrip is. You can see on the first post, page 1 that that area has been trimmed for clearance.
Our COPO style hood uses the same top skin but def will clear anything out there. |

Its actually tighter in the front by the TB then it is by the weatherstrip, as far as hood clearance goes.
