As far as pricing goes..well if your only looking at the final price tag, go get an 2002 Camaro and spend 30k in mods.
Did you see the part where i said they make it FROM a camaro, I didnt say they make the camaro. Some reading comp classes might be something to look into for you.

The statement was that the cars originate from different places, which isnt true.

Originate: to take its origin or rise; begin; start; arise

A LPE camaro begins at the chevrolet plant where it is assembled before being sent over to LPE correct? A Gt500 also begins at fords assembly plant. Actually the way the origins statement comes through makes it seem as LPE does create the camaro, as in saying it doesnt start at the chevy plant, which is what you were trying to say about my post when you failed.

As far as pricing, we were comparing prices of 2 brand new 2010 cars. Your "buying a 2002 camaro and modding it", is not the same category.

Zeus has summed it up perfectly!!

Okay. maybe I said it wrong or you don't simply understand. The gt500 is built as a gt500. It wasn't something else and turned into a gt500.

they didn't get a mustang gt and modify it to make it into a gt500.

Hopefully that makes it more clear for your "origins" definition...

The Camaro originates in one form and its modified to another. That's the difference. I don't see how that's hard to wrap your mind around.

Going back to your 40k mark..one could purchase a mustang gt and spend 12k on it as well?

I agree with both of those.

Too bad it took you 3 posts to say it correctly. I could "have wrapped my mind around it", if you had said it originates in one form and then is modified. Too bad thats not what you said.

Too bad, the fact that it has been Tuner car vs factory car a million times in this thread and it took you this long to see the difference.

Here is your proof, so now apologize... (taken directly from HPE price sheet)

HENNESSEY PERFORMANCE - 2010 CAMARO HIGH-PERFORMANCE UPGRADES
Available for all 2010 Camaro SS Automatic & Manual Transmission Cars

HPE475 NATURALLY ASPIRATED 2 WEEKS 12.7 SEC 475 HP $6,950
MAGNUSON SUPERCHARGED 2 WEEKS 12.3 SEC 520 HP $8,950
HPE550 SUPERCHARGED PERFORMANCE 2 WEEKS 11.7 SEC 562 HP $14,950

Ummm.... you and Mark are the only ones, but the proof is in the HPE price sheet, not a link to Ebay. Once again, $30,245 + 14,950 = $45,195 or the LPE option is listed at $10,995 which would be $41,240.

the regular GT500 begins and ends at a Ford assembly plant. it never goes to Shelby or any other specialty plant for anything. the Super Snake goes to Shelby but the regular GT500 is built entirely at a Ford plant.

You are correct sir. I do feel that it should be mentioned that the plant is in Flat Rock, Michigan, USA.....

Do you not have a scanner? We are talking about the HPE 550 not the LPE. I never said anything about LPE pricing. I wouldn't think a ebay listing would mean anything, but the listing was from Hennessey. So do they make you pay more for the car? I would have gotten a Camaro if GM did not screw up the ordering system. Its a great car for the money, but I would rather have a Shelby.

Oh I understand that, I just thought you had misread and thought he had quoted for the LPE.

I think it's real as it seems to be inline with what I've read. Hennessey also does insanely expensive packages though so that's probably what you're thinking of. Easiest way is to simply PM the Hennessey rep on this board.

So your talking about adding just a supercharger?? Why not say the same thing about adding a vortech etc.

I'm talking about a complete car. Wheels, supercharge, badging etc is for 63k.. not just a single mod.

Check your numbers.

actually you never mentioned wheels, badging, etc. Your only statement was in terms of horsepower.

I said 70k in general. Sales taxes, delivery etc... might as well be 70k.

So for 63k I get 562 hp? or for 50k get 540 with factory warranty?? 13k more for 22 hp. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last he quoted the price for the HPE 550, which is a performance package, not just a supercharger. Again reading comp would help. Also there is a sales rep from HPE on this forum who has posted the prices and details earlier, where a quick search would have helped you see that.

The New Performance-Only HPE550 Package Includes:

- Black TVS2300 Magnuson Supercharger (polished optional)
- Upgraded Fuel Injectors
- HPE Air Induction System
- Stainless Steel Cat-Back Exhaust
- 160 Degree Thermostat
- HPE Engine Management
- Professional Installation
- Chassis Dyno & Road Testing
- HPE Floormats, Badging & Numbered Plaques
- HPE 3yr / 36,000 Mile Warranty

$14,995 Installed
$10,995 Parts Only
