I have gotten as good as 26.1 mpg on a 190 mile trip. Usually gets 22-23.5 with a liitle playing around in there. A lot of playing usually drops to 17-18MPG(2SS/A6).

I average about 18.6 in a mix of city and highway driving with frequent spirited accelerations (I can't control myself). On all freeway driving I get around 25 and I once was getting 30 MPG when I was trying real hard on a flat highway at 60 MPH cruising speed.

Here is the link to my discussion the time I was getting 30 MPG in my 2SS/RS 6M.

First few days it was in the DIC as 15.4 or so, as I have put the miles on, my tank averages have been between 18 and 21. I do love to accelerate from a stop though... Mostly highway miles, but still a bit of a mix... 2SS/M6 - shifting 1st, 3rd, 5th also...

If you have the LS3 (manual SS) you can get better gas mileage in the city. I shift to keep the RPMs at around 1000. Go from 1st to third and then shift to fourth at 30 mph fifth at 40 mph.etc..... I am getting 18 mph in the city this way and 20 mph combined.

What is your average speed as shown in the DIC?

I am at 16.9 mpg, but do alot of city driving and at 32.2 average speed. There is a direct correlation between mpg and average speed. If everyone posted those two numbers you will see a correlation. A greater average speed usually dictates greater mpg.

I do accelerate fast..

14mpg. Very little highway driving and I'm shifting with the paddle shifting so there is no top gear driving or 4 cylinder drop until I break the car in. Then I should see some better gas mileage. Would also help if I didn't accelerate as hard, but I'm enjoying the car way too much.

I got 25.7mpg driving all interstate about 75mph with about 10 or so toll booth stops on my 12 hour drive home. I am running about 20mpg around town.

Exact same numbers as posted above for my first 3/4 tank. Mostly below 3000rpm, very little highway driving, only 250 miles so far.

Smoke from dipstick and 11 mpg? That doesn't seem right unless you are pushing your foot through the floor boards an a regular basis.

I've driven my new 2SS 6M 4,000 miles in the past 11 days. Left Washington State drove to southeast Kansas and am now in Tempe, AZ and will be returning to Washington State this week. My MPG has been 24, 24, 24, 27, 21, 28 on the highway. This is going 4 miles per hour above the posted speed limits so most of this has been at 79 miles per hour.

Have you reset the trip computer at all? the MPG reading works off one of the trip odometers. After about 800 miles its quite impossible to get the MPG to go UP. Reset the meter and check.
