Chase, why do some people say that their catch can is always empty and others always find fluid?

If your catch can is always empty you either have a terrible catch can or you have it installed wrong.

Do those fittings really require something like Teflon tape (looks like crap) to prevent leaks?

With all NPT style fittings whether it is in our can or another it a best practice to use thread tape to garantee a good seal. It may not be needed but it is better to be safe. Other catch can manufacturers recommend the same thing. After installing the fittings you can take a razor blade and trim away the excess for a clean look.

Got ya - thanks for the quick reply. One of the things I love about you guys! I wonder if installing a small black rubber washer of the proper diameter (in addition to the tape) would work to hide the tape. Nothing functional - just cosmetic. Hmmmm....

By the way, I just ordered one of your Catch Cans to replace the old RX can I currently have. It's just not doing the job on my SS that it used to when it was on my 1LT (V6). Probably should have upgraded the can when I upgraded the car.

Merry Christmas to me! (As well as all of y'all at Apex Motorsports!

Yeah - thanks Denis. I just wanted to know if it was really necessary, but if it's a metal fitting and a metal can with NPT threads I can see where it would be a good precaution against leakage (fluid and vacuum). Thanks.

Finally getting around to installing my Apex CC and in the instructions it refers to an App. A and App. B for the suggested hose lengths but there is no App. A or B attached to the pdf file. I've got the can physically installed just looking for the numbers so I can start on the lines.
