The problem with having the production version look "just like the ones at the ring" is that much is learned through testing. I live in AZ and we have test mules and prototypes around here all summer. I have spoken with several engineers from GM, Nissan and VW and they have all told me that they learn a great deal from driving the cars and exposing them to harsh conditions. A simple thing like the grill design will almost always evolve when they learn about wind noise it may generate, effects on cooling and its ability to hold up to the elements. Engineering is a balance of compromises. In the concept stages the cars have not gone through much of the engineering scrutiny required to turn a great concept into a great production car.
I think GM's goal is to make a great car that is true to the concept car which I believe they will do. I am looking forward to being a proud Camaro owner again. I will buy the SS when it comes out then the Z28 when it comes out. The SS will go to my daughter which is exciting to me. She will learn to love good old American muscle like I did at her age. |

And when we first saw those, everyone wanted the ones at the 'Ring and stuff to look just like the concept... You have to remember that we're following the Camaro through it's development stages. Try not to draw any aesthetic conclusions from those ring photos. We still don't know what the final grille, etc is going to look like........

What if ... what if Chevy is lying to us? ... and that in fact, the pre pro camaros are fake ones and that the real camaro we will be able to buy will be the exact reproduction of the concept?
... Yeah ... i know .... Let me at least dream until your reply ....

I just want to see the car in it's final production state. We are all just getting so axious.
All I know is that I'd like to see the original bumper next to the supposed SS bumper, and either way, I'd like to see that as an option. My big deal is the smooth sides. I just don't like the protrusions off the side of the SS bumper and the bumper of the Convertible. I like the sleakness of the pre-pro, concept bumber. Those are my thoughts.
