Be careful if you turn all the nannies off. If you decide to do a full three gear burnout, stability control can save your ass. Ask me how I know.
I am leaving stability control on from now on. |

Yes, one tap to turn off the traction control is all you need.

If you want to be able to do some good burnouts without wearing out brake components you need to invest in a line lock kit. I have the Hurst line lock which is specific for 5th gen camaros. In addition to the LL kit I have a something called a switchlink which let's you use one of the steering wheel switch to activate line lock. I really like the switchlink, it works great and is very stealth. Otherwise if you don't have the switchlink The LL kit comes with a switch that you have to mount which IMO looks cheap. Switchlink is well worth it and not expensive and fairly easy to install.

line locks are cheap enough - just buy one and install it (or have it installed).
turn off the traction control and use just a little water for added smoke and ease to get the tires going No need to beat on the car any harder than you have too Id also do it in 2nd gear If you dont want to buy the line lock - rev it up, dump the clutch, keep right foot on the gas and quickly move your left foot over on the brake. Now you are like an auto |

lets talk about burn outs ...?
Ok so let's shift focus and talk launching at the line. For auto, do you guy brake stand at a certain rpm before gunning it? And I assume TC off?

If you want to do a "burnout," just press the traction control button once and slam the gas.
I think you are referring to what is called a "brake stand." In this case you should most definitely get a line lock for your car, especially if you plan on running it on the strip or you just want to smoke your tires a lot. Many people don't know that there are 3 different types of burnouts. - Burnout - Rolling Burnout - Brake Stand This video explains them perfectly. http://youtu.be/H2ARbB9Q64A |
