If you order a color match engine cover is it factory installed. If not should you get the original cover with the car?

I believe the Engine Conver is PAINTED at the dealer, it's the same cover that comes with the car, you just pay to have it painted.....i could be wrong on this one.

I'm waiting on my cover now, its comes already painted and you can keep your old one. You paid for it.

Covers are already painted to match the car. Very easy to remove the existing all black one and install the new color matched one - less than 5 minutes. I got one, but am not terribly impressed with it for my V6 (2LT). Yes, you get to keep the all black one. I've seen a forum where others have removed it and painted it themselves. One individual even applied stickers to spell out Camaro - looked really nice.

If you ordered an SS it's silver. But if you ordered an LS or LT (V6) it comes black standard.

It is a flat black just like the rest of the engine cover.
So you are looking to put a V6 cover on your V8 ???
I dont think that will work..... and why the hell would you want to do that ???

Why paint it when you can get one that looks like this? For $399, I'm considering it for sure. Maybe without the lettering on it though.
