In an effort to rule out installation error, please follow these steps.

With the car on the ground, full weight of the car on the wheels, remove the top nut and retaining plate.

Inspect the jam nut that holds the mount to the strut. Is there a gap between the nut and the mount? Please take a picture and post it.

Gabe, I think that what you need to do is rotate the Yellow Cushion so that it lines up correctly.

I can assure you, thats not the problem. It can be perfectly lined up, tightened all the way, as soon as you let go of the spring, it jumps out of alignment.

the yellow cushion is the same all the way around. therefore would not make any difference on its position....

did you get a chance to check on a assembled strut in your shop like you mentioned? was it a 2015 SS?

I did not use a spring compressor. there is little to no pressure on the spring. so yessir I am doing it by hand with help to tighten the nut as I keep spring in place. I will try your next suggestion when I get home today after 430. Shes still on jackstands with struts out and dis assembled, waiting IMpatiently on BMR lol

Well, I spoke with TC at BMR.........he said he spoke with Chevrolet and engineers and that there is no difference in the 2014 and 2015. So he recommended I rotate the top hat as many times as I can to see if it helps. soooooooooooo I will go try that here in a few hours........

So you do not have the yellow cushion Irace16 correct? From what I hear, the 2013 and older years do not have that yellow cushion. I'd like to see the setup n those years. Maybe I can just take my yellow cushion off if the tophat is the same.

Please measure the free height of your 2015 OE coil and the free height of the BMR coil. Also count the number of coils. This image will help.

Your coils are not flat ground and will be more challenging to measure, but as long as you measure them both the same way we'll have decent information.

I'm currently out of town till Saturday. I'll measure the springs then. I think it's safe to say the BMR spring is about 1.4" lower haha

If anyone can post a pic of their assembly on a 2012 or older I'd appreciate it. I would like to see what the previous years setup looks like....thank you

Gabe
