F14 I will agree. But Stew is also correct. Your wife car is a factory freak. I am quite sure your aware of that term. Your wife also has the most important mod. SHE CAN DRIVE !
Camaro guys, Mustang guys, Mopar.....hell people will defend what they drive. Its rare you find people who admits the flaw in their cars. Example is the understeer in the Camaro. Sure it beat the mustang around the track. .07. Great ! Now if your on the Stang side you will say, "100+ HP and you only won by .07." The Camaro side will say "The mustang supposed to handle better, but still lost !" So which side is correct here ? None. The point that should come forward is that the Camaro would be a MUCH BETTER handler if they fixed the understeer issue. Not if it beat a car with more or less HP..... But I can guarantee you, and heh its already happen, most will not see it that way. The FUN factor could be much higher in the Camaro if this issue was address. It really makes no difference what it beats around the track. I can and will admit flaws in my brand. I have said i several times. Its been some really dog years in the mustangs. There have been some very nice years as well. The current s197 is best so far. Is it outdated now ? In power yes. So we can wait for the next round. The Camaro is a lot of bang for the money. Can it be better ? Yes. I suspect the next years that GM will work out the flaws, take things from the aftermarket, and make the base of the car better. Its how things are done. In the end, its great that we can go round and round and the big three is back. I'm loving it myself. Its like the late 60'sand early 70's all over, instead this time around I actually can drive and I own the cars involve. Great times great times. |

![]() I am not trying to start anything here between the ford and chevy guys. I am not diehard chevy, but I am not diehard ford either. I have a certain respect for anything that is a rear drive v8. I have said several times in the past that i am leaning camaro. However, for my toy budget, 40k, i saw this car and it seemed like a deal. I just want to hear what other people, who know mcuh more about cars than I do, think about this car. I am planning on getting an automatic. (I know, I know, but its what I want)The roush comes with a s/c already and some other goodies. It is alvailable with an auto, evne though the car in question is a stick. It means something to me to have the s/c and a full warranty for around 40gs. Unless I am wrong, this car seems faster than the ss automatic. I Understand with the same mods the ss will pound the 427r, but then I would be pushing 50k and thats more than I care to spend on a 6 month car. Thanks to everybody for contributing to the post. |

I completely agree with you that each of these cars has their points that are just awesome, and also have points where you are left scratching your head because it could have been done much better. Yeah my wifes car was a freak, but most of the other ls1 cars i know or have owned ran 13.1s Our 2002 converible ran a 13.1, but it did have a lid. I think its funny that alot of the mustang guys on here think i am a hater and i really am not. When i am on this forum i like to discuss camaros without the argument from the mustang side, and when i am on a mustang forum i dont like the argument from the camaro side. There is just so much misinformation that comes from both sides. And i agree with you statement about the late 60s, it is awesome isn't it.

While not door to door on the 1/4 track it is in fact a door to door battle on the street or in an 1/8th mile run. Quote:

Hold on, I don't have a Camaro. If I had the money I would buy one.
My definiton of trolls are the guys that come on other forums thinking and voicing that their brand, make, model, ect. the best out there that their shit don't stink. Most of them have no experiance on the "other side", just alot of opinions. I do see that on here. Its best to just ignore them.

You should find me the post where I said the 2010 GT500 ISNT a good car. I crap on fanboys and their ignorance, not the cars. Quote:

Well... your both right. Im tired of Mustang fanboys which is why if there is an argument to be had I usually go against the grain. But I am a HUGE Car enthusiast and equal opportunity buyer ![]() Got that from my father. At any given time he had a Ford truck, Corvette, and Porsche all in the garage at once. |

It is a nice looking car, but after looking at the interior pics, I'm not getting the whole 'mustang interior blows away the camaro interior' thing that people and magazines seem to be on about. I prefer my Camaro interior. The seats don't seem to be up to par either.

If any of you have a problem with other cars (such as the Mustang, Evo, 370Z, BMW's, Mopars, or anything else) being discused in the Chevy Camaro vs ... section, please do one thing for me and everyone else on the site:
DON'T READ OR POST ANYTHING IN THIS SECTION. You aren't adding anything to the discussion and it irritates those who want to discuss and learn about other cars. Complaining about it makes as much sense as complaining that the L99 gets discussed in the Camaro V8 section, or stuff getting advertised in the vendors section. Thats what its here for.

That 427R will beat a stock Camaro anyday. But if you are a good driver, you'll be a neck and neck with a stage 3, barely beat a stage 2, and have a length on a stage 1. Put that single turbokit, or a ProCharger and you'll take a 427R with ease.
