That is lightning fast, that is blink of eye fast.
Faster is not always better.

Wait!... what??!!

Convert your 1LE to an automatic?

41 is "getting old"?

There are just so many wrongs one can read at once before the mind becomes befuddled.

Converting may not just require the computer, but also the harness in some cases. Cheaper to trade/sell and buy, but I don't know what mods you have. It would also hurt the value of the car imo...

True for restaurants, fast food vs 5 star dining but for transmissions I'll take fast. The only arena an auto may outshine the DCT is a hardcore 1/4 car. Otherwise it is DCT.

What can I say, I like fast food, fast cars, and fast women.

Agree that no auto beats a DCT. But do not agree on a DCT being a better transmission than a conventional 3-pedal manual (unless we're talking about the transmission in the C7 ... that was just terrible).

I guess your definition of better is based on something other than greater performance and faster lap times. I am not saying that to sound like a smart ass, but I don't think you could find a race car that features a true three pedal system if a DCT is allowed. What is your definition of better?

Absolutely correct. This is a 1LE forum, not a racing forum. Properly working 3 pedals is very very difficult. There is a lot of enjoyment and pride in doing it right. Working 3 pedals is involving, at all times. More-so than in any other transmission-equipped vehicle.

When I auto-cross, other than a first to second shift at the very start of a run, I'm not shifting at all (for 90% of the auto-crosses I've ever run, this is true, and in just about any vehicle). So having faster shifts doesn't play a meaningful role in my course times.

When I attend a track-day, I'm not racing anyone but myself. I'm trying to improve on my own times, so it doesn't really matter which transmission I'm running. Sure, a paddle-box will net me a slightly faster lap time, but that's a hardware improvement, not a driver improvement, so I couldn't care less.

Many disagree with this stance. They do not love a 3-pedal transmission as much as I do. They don't get the enjoyment out of it. That's fine, but I will ALWAYS prefer a true stick shift as opposed to any and every other type of transmission unless I strike it mad rich one day and start racing in a series.

I agree with the enjoyment of the three pedal system, and consider myself fairly accomplished at the art. I also have to say that I am yet to drive a DCT system, so I can only say that I would like to. Again, I was not trying to question your comments, but I do look forward to mastering the use of a DTC system sometime, but like you, will most likely have to become mad rich before that happens.

If you've ever played a video game, you've mastered any and every flappy paddle gear box.

I read the title of this thread and was like .

If you're very adamant about it being an auto maybe a dealer can swap you a SS? That or just drink 5 hour energy before every drive
