^^I think he works for that dealership.

Its obvious that the service manager got pissed because his customer caught his ass in not only not knowing his product, but also trying to brush off the customer because of his lack of knowledge...then got mad when he was called out on it.

Then gets even more mad because now EVERYONE ON THIS SITE knows that he didn't know that. So in essence, yes, that does put a damper on people wanting to bring their business there...because who'd want their car serviced by an idiot? Not I.

That said...if it happened...it happened. Nothing wrong with expressing your distaste with bad service.

The dealer has opened up a whole new can of worms by hiring a lawyer to give you threatening phone calls...Don't be afraid of them as you did nothing wrong. Since it is a he said she said, it won't go anywhere in court. Get the name of the employee's invloved and so forth and send a pm to Fbodfather to see if he can do anything..

i was thinking the same thing, that he works there or knows about the situation and has friends in the dealership. these types of actions by dealers are reactions of fear and stupidity in today's market. but hell, it's the NYC area, what do you expect?

He doesn't work for that dealer he works for another dealer in the area.

That said he is asking or hoping for the other side to the story, albeit in a manner thats suggestive of supporting the possibility the dealer did nothing wrong.

I live in the area but have never dealt with Arnold, The BBB complaints are all listed as resolved so you can't get on them about that, every business gets those.

Based on the OP it definitely sounds like the dealer was being a douche, that said the fact someone new posts here and makes only ONE post specifically about this situation is quite fishy and I don't know what to think. I'd like to give KJS the benefit of the doubt as based on the story it doesn't SEEM like there would be a reason to make this up but who knows.

That's what I'm saying. Why would someone who is supportive of GM (through the mere fact of buying the Camaro) all of a sudden make up something about a dealer experience for no reason? It just doesn't happen.

Because of the infrastructure and often times lack of an efficiency with information dissemination at the dealer level, and taking into consideration the newness of the vehicle; I would think that the OP's experience is highly plausable. More plausable than him just getting on here to make something up...especially since he gains nothing from doing so.

yeah, the supposed "cease and desist" letter is what i'm more concerned with. having a bitchfest with someone at the dealership is one thing, trying to bully a customer with threats of a lawsuit is another. it is on the dealership to rectify the situation in a professional and "the customer is always right" manner. yeah, customers can be complete douchebags too, but it's on the dealer, not the customer. regardless of what went down and who was at fault, sending a threating letter is absolutely uncalled for and unprofessional and a sign of horrible business ethics.

If KJS bought his car there, he has a little more clout than someone who bought elsewhere. If her didn't buy it there, I can guarantee you he will NEVER get his car serviced there from now on.

Being a customer doesn't give you the right to be a loudmouth.

Again, we are only hearing only one side of the story.
OK I'm out of hiding (somewhat).
RPO - I hear what you are saying and you are correct. Customers do not deserve to be loudmouths. And I was not. And your correct, this is only one side of the story. And was we all know there are 3 sides mine, the other guys and the truth.
I would welcome the dealership to present their side of the story, I'm trying to be honest here and I normally would not post a critical "OPINION" about a business if I didn't feel it was warranted.
In my lifetime just like everyone on this forum I've purchased thousands and thousands of products. Most all work fine and no problem. When there is a problem I've been able to get it dealt with and most always the customer service is pretty good. If not I try to negotiate a reasonable compromise -as close as one can get to a "win-win" situation.
But I refuse to be treated IN MY OPINION like an idiot. To be talked over, yelled at and not given the courtesy of getting a phone call back from the management of a business is IN MY OPINION rude.
I greatly appreciate the support of my fellow Camaro5 posters.
Your posts have lifted my spirits and removed most of my fears of this rediculous pending legal action.
Thanks!

You don't have to sugar coat everything you say with "OPINION". You state factual events in this case and the dealer acted "stupidly" by arguing with you and refusing to acknowledge your claims. Furthermore they made the matters worse by "threatening" you with legal action which obviously got you scared enough to now preface everything you say with "OPINION". You stood up for yourself as you have the right to do as an American and you let others know of their behaviors towards you.. I truly believe they will be the ones apologizing to you sooner than later by having their general manager create an account and post their apology on this forum if they want to re-gain camaro5's respect..

Shoot, if that's all you had to do to get sued by a dealer, I would have been sued many of times by them. I can remember getting in arguments with Service Managers all the way back when I was 17!
