Seems like everyone has the exact opposite experience from wires as me. The MSD's are much more durable and i have a pile of broken or damaged taylor 10.5 wires laying in my garage.

I am running the Granatelli wires. No problems and a perfect fit. I like the extra heat protection around the wires. I also use the OE metal sleeves and run heat socks. I'm not going to get into the power increase debate.

I ran MSD 8.5mm on my LS1 and had zero issues. Can't really say whether or not the car actually ran better since I did wires, plugs, headers, ORY, and cat back all at the same time....but they functioned well enough for me. Guess I have some decisions to make once I decide to install headers.

Had Granitelli's on my L99. When I took it in for the LS3 conversion, the tuner told me one of my wires was bad. I gave him the OEM wires I had saved. Still using the OEM wires with LT headers and no problems.

I've had the MSD wires on my SS for over 3 years with zero problems, no heat socks (but would like to get some) and no apparent heat damage. I have Kooks 1 7/8 headers. My only ignition problems came from the stock plugs melting the electrode off. This was after 50-60K miles so no biggie.

Pretty sure I'm gonna stick OEM with maybe some heat socks.. Have some OEM brakes on the way then this is next.. not causing any issue and probably never will. It's just the small clip that holds it onto the coil terminal not the wire terminal. It's on pretty solid as it is but after 5 years they will be replaced soon. It's not a DD.

I was a firm believer in factory wires being the best until we started working with Taylor and tested the 8.2mm Thundervolt wire. The stock GM LS wires had 800 Ohm while the Taylor wires had 28 Ohm of resistance for a significant drop in lost energy.

We also spec'd 135 degree boots for better header clearance and include 1200 degree socks. This is a great wire package and they are offered with natural, red or black socks. You can find more info HERE.

Please feel free to call, email or PM u anytime with questions.

Kind regards,

Ok, OEM wires vs those nifty Taylor wires you speak of, could one expect to see any measurable increase on the dyno and/or real world fuel economy figures improving?

After installing the MSD 8.5mm wires over stock I have to say anyone who thinks the stock wires perform as well or better isn't even worth wasting a breath on. Stock wires FTL.
