They made over 10,000 C4 ZR1s, how is that more rare than ~1,800 Z/28s? |

Rare does not always equate to desirability. Again, they made a gajillion 1st gen Camaros that are selling for 10X or more what they stickered for on a bad day if they're in good shape, and they don't even have to be a Z/28. I just don't think its likely one could get $750,000 for a 5th gen in 50 years. Again, you MUST account for the cost of upkeep as well, which isn't cheap to ensure the car stays pristine. Will a Z/28 hold better values down the road? If history has anything to say about it, yes. Be investment value? Perhaps. We can hope, but jury's still out at this point. It's all new and shiny now, but what will we be seeing 5-10 years from now from Camaro? Fun discussion, though.

The good news is that they're starting to get priced correctly so those buying them now will have a lot less depreciation over the next 2 years. I picked up a brand new CTS-V at $23k off sticker. Makes trade-in time much better. |

The trend with nearly any performance model debut is it's successor usually means depreciation of the previous model.
I can't name a single car that hasn't followed this trend! Unless they stop production or it's truly limited production model (less than 500 units) you shouldn't ever bank on a vehicle appreciating in less than 20 yrs. With that said I'd consider getting a Z/28 at that price point just because I could.

Parks Chevrolet in Kernersville, NC
Brand new 2015 ZL1 $46,900, $11,895 off sticker Brand new 2015 Z28 $58,000, $18,150 off sticker Great guys to deal with, no BS. I traded my 2010 CTS-V there for a ZL1 and they now service my 2012 CTS-V. |

Looks like the ones over in Greenville, TX (east of Dallas) at Britain. I probably would have the Z28 in the garage at that price if it was red.
Bought a truck from them earlier in the year. Great price and great to deal with. |

I live in Manhattan and have a 2013 Corvette Grand Sport. I drive the car approximately 3500 miles per year, typically on dry Saturdays, Manhattan to Long Island and back, all four seasons. I have lived in the City and driven this way since 1982 with a '77 Firebird, '88 IROC Z, '01 Mustang Bullitt, '04 Corvette Coupe and now with my '13 Grand Sport.
Can I do this with a new Z28? No track days, just a simple cruise from the City, to friends or the beach on Long Island and back to the City, on dry days only, all four seasons, in a visceral, nasty car. Thanks, Ken |

2015 Camaro Z/28 20K Price Drop!!!

Absolutely. The talk about bad street manners is way overblown. I would consider losing the Trofeos if you want to do winter driving. Otherwise, in this Z/28 owner's opinion, the car is perfect for that mission - but only if you don't mind talking and taking pictures at every stop... |
