I knew that was coming lol. I have to say though, Tracy has shared a lot of good information with me. You have to remember, I don't have a performance shop that I consult with and that does my work. I do everything by myself and get information where I can. I know he has a real bad name on this forum and I've probably even helped bad mouth him, but I've talked with him on the phone and quite a bit through email since losing my motor and planning this big build and he's been a lot of help to me. Keep in mind, I'm not a customer just a fellow gearhead talking V6 Camaros, so I can't speak about his business or anything that's happened with members here on C5.
I need to tear this new engine down and look at the cylinder walls. I was hoping it would be low enough miles to not have to hone it but I think I see a little shine to it when I look through the open valves. Wiseco is telling me that if I'm going to hone it then that needs to be done before we make the pistons, at least a rough hone. So I'll get it apart and go from there. I've spoken with Gerald Brand about doing my machine work and balancing my rotating assembly and he's agreed to do it. He's a pretty famous engine builder here in OKC, he does a lot of big money builds and does a lot of work for the street outlaw guys. He built the motor in Varley's gold car, and the motor in big chiefs red turbo LS shop truck. So that's pretty cool, he said he has 6 engines in line to build but would work my little piddly v6 machine work in and out within a couple weeks. It'll be worth the wait to know its balanced right.

I also ordered a CircleD triple disc billet converter. $1200 is A LOT of cash for a torque converter... Hopefully it'll be worth it. It will be awesome being able to lock it at WOT!
CircleD recommended I go with a 5C which is a 4000-4200 stall, but after talking to Aaron from GPI(owns and drives Gretchens TT monster now and running the 4000 triple disc) I decided to go with a 4C which is a 3600-3700 stall. Aaron said his is a little loose for street driving and if he could do it over again he probably would have went a little tighter. So I'll gladly sacrifice a little performance at the track to make it a much better street car. 3600-3700 should still spool these turbos plenty fast and might work better if/when I end up putting a 50-75 shot of nitrous on the car just for the launch like I've been contemplating.

Thought I would share:
I fired mine up for about 2 minutes and realized that the scavenge pump was not working. I now have oil coming out of eveyy pipe and the exhaust.

Same thing happened to me. My problem was the fuse jumper that goes to the fuse box. I didn't realize it needed two fuses, I just put the one fuse back in it that I pulled. Turns out it needed another fuse added to it so it ends up with two 10amp(i think) in it. The directions didn't say anything about that. I bet that's it, unless it got wired wrong. You will definitely hear the scavenge pump running before you start the car. Ever since then I always make sure I hear it running before I start the car. Once you get the pump working you might want to pull the air filters off the turbos and make sure there's no oil on the intake sides. If not then your fine the oil will smoke for awhile but it'll burn out eventually.

That converter is almost the price of your engine.

Man, could have had this sweet FTI 3600 I have laying here for 1/4" of the cost... But for what you're doing/planning, it doesn't make sense to cut any corners now. Do it once, and do it right. You're on the right track.

If you go nitrous to spool up call me. We can work out a deal since you are not going big spray.

Will do, your old kit is the only reason I'm even thinking about doing the small shot.

You should have went with the 5C, with correct tuning where the throttle is linear instead of on/off, the high stall is extremely good for daily driving. You also have to set the TCC desired slips to 0 to make sure the TCC isn't pulsed.

Apparently the plan has changed again, Chris and Brian from CircleD have been talking to Aaron and Ryan from Gwatney about it and they've decided to build me a 2E converter. I'm leaving it in the hands of the professionals and we'll see how it works out.

I ordered a Tru-Cool 40K transmission cooler today. I'm sure it's overkill but I figured why not. I've measured and measured and I'm pretty confident I can make it fit nicely above my intercooler. Dimensions are 22" x 8.5" x 1.25". It's a plate and fin style and huge so I shouldn't ever have to worry about tranny fluid temps.
Also ordered some ARP2000 connecting rod bolts and some DEI Titanium header wrap last week which should be here tomorrow. I'm going to wrap the pipes from the cylinder heads to the turbos to try to keep as much heat in as possible. Collecting lots of go fast parts!
