The iPod bottom connects to an adaptor that goes into the back of the head unit. With a USB port, you could use your computer connector with the head unit.

It is definitely possible to play Ipods through a system using USB. It just needs to be able to read AAC. I also have the Pioneer Ipod cable for my In-dash Navi screen. It hooks into the bottom and let's me control my iphone through the screen, so all I have to do is plug it in and set it down and I can control everything on the screen. I'm pretty sure Chevy could dig up some technology and be able to use this for a stereo deck. but don't worry, you won't have to wait too long before you can connect your music via Bluetooth. It's already being done.

My cobalt is IPOD compatible. It is only a mini jack that can connect to the headphone plug on the IPOD. Works fine, but does not charge the IPOD, cannot control the IPOD, etc. Minimal interface.

Standard 1/8" aux in FTW. That is everything-compatible. iPod, other mp3 player, satellite radio, laptop computer, phone playing mp3s, portable CD player, Walkman (if you're old enough to remember what that is), etc...

I love the thought of a USB Drive, but I keep imagining it on the dash. I hope it is hidden away a little, other wise I'm buying a very small flashdrive...

Here's what it looks like on aftermarket stereos.

It will look better on an OEM system.

Link to my "Mini" flash drive....

And only $11.99.. thats a great deal considering an Ipod will cost you hundreds...

Heres a picture for size reference... AND its 2Gb of space..

You know what. I would purposely install an 8track in my new Camaro for Nostalgia.

Any one got some tips on how to do that?
