I might buy some softer pads and some ultra fine compound so I can get it to shine like a mirror...
Thanks for the info looking good. Your going to have the cleanest '12 around with all that cleaning when you did the rear and polishing now.
Seems like you really need your engine back though before you start polishing your tools out of boredom too. lol

I've decided to do a little powder coating while I'm playing the waiting game. Thinking about doing the valve covers, the intake tube, and possibly the front timing cover. I'm either going to do them white, or a polished look. I bought some rattle can paint to try a few colors on my old valve covers. Tried red and tried white. Red looks kinda goofy with the yellow coils so it's out. The white looks pretty cool. It would look a lot better being powder coated and high gloss. Here's the one I painted white and another pic of some done in a polished finish. Feel free to give opinions...

I agree. I've had headers ceramic coated like that in the past and loved the look.

I wonder how much a shop would charge to polish the valve covers?

Put big golden arches on your door and you can charge them advertising money.

Then I would have to put 26 inch wheels and a lift kit on it

Idk, I was going to try to polish them myself but the casting is rough and I wouldn't be able to get in all the hard to reach spots. In sure it could be done but I imagine it would be labor intensive and expensive. Plus they would need to be re-polished over time and you wouldn't be able to get to it. I think powder coating will be much better.
