You know, the chrome version probably wouldn't look too bad on side, under the "Camaro" emblem.

The company that came out to put my stripes on at the dealer blacked out my bowties for me. They used flat black vinyl. It looks pretty good. It may not last forever but they did it for free so I'm not going to complain.

For what it's worth, I just finished installing the black vinyl SS's I purchased from Black10 and there was definitely chrome underneath my red SS's, not black. I would not pull off the factory decals unless you are willing to have chrome emblems. BTW, Black10's SS decals were very easy to install, and look awesome!

Here are a couple of low quality pics. The first one is what is left after the red SS decals are removed. The second pic is with Black10's black decals.

I just finished carefully removing the white and noticed that the black is attached to the white, so you have to split it first to keep the black. It is double layered, so if you pull off the entire white portion without splitting off the black, then the chrome will show.

I just checked the the red decal that came off of my SS emblems. It was red on both sides, so SS/RS guys will not be able to do this.

The Red SS emblems on my Dad's Car are painted, I checked both the front and back emblems. Anyone else have painted emblems, could be early cars were painted and later cars were decal

Nice grammar! Hey if you understand it then why don't you explain it? Seems like everyone's badge is different!

You didn't read the thread or you think half the posters are crazy? Seems like there's a lot of different badges to me. And my red "RS" built Aug 20ish is definitely painted on.
