I have... just wanted to get rid of it and not have the hassle of messing around with titles or anything else. So yeah, theirs your one.

I am so glad I actually did go to law school and practice Contract Litigation, I love reading these threads LMAO

Stop all communication, your response will be, I will get back to you after I consult with my Attorney.

Write down everything, dates times inspections, names ect.

Go see an experienced Contract Litigator in California, (But Contract Law is similar more or less State to State with a few differences) to give you some initial inexpensive advice after he or she reads your contract.

I would give you some here, but I don't practice for free, Ha.

Yes, the holes thru would make it fail. They error on the side of caution for everything. Liability I guess. I have purchased cars in the past that are "frame damaged" only to find a scrape or a ding. God forbid you drill holes for a tow hitch.

Backeddy has the solution....Tell them that it deprecated the second it left your possession and that you will gladly buy it back at 60% of what they paid you for it!!!! I think I heard this somewhere before, but can't put my finger on it

If you make a donation to the Clinton Foundation, you could probably have that guy at the dealership "disappear".

Be smart, get a lawyer and let the dealership deal with them.

I agree with others here, more information is needed here regarding the alleged modifications. I'm no lawyer however, if you bought the car second hand and had no clue about its past life it might be worth contacting a lawyer just to send a certified/legal document to the dealer telling them to eat crow karma's a bitch!

If you knew/did the modifications and were not truthful about it there could be some burden on you i suppose ... Regardless, it's nice to hear about the dealer getting the surprise for a change.

And rightly so.

So the replies here are somewhat interesting.
Disagree. Buyer beware. If you don't do a good enough job inspecting a car, that is on you. Just like it was on the dealer before cash was exchanged.

I've seen stereo installs put more holes in a car than a bolt in roll cage. Its silly to think of that as frame damage. If there is holes there, put a bolt/washer/nut on them, and move on.

What the dealership has to prove is what OP knew about the car, that is going to be tough.

I don't care how you spin it, the dealership has to prove that OP knew there was a roll cage installed prior to selling it in order to fault him.

Tell them you are willing to work with them. Explain to them that they inspected the car two times. That you bought the car used, and were not aware of any issues that they are claiming, and offer them $500.00 final offer, to buy the car back.

OP knows more than he is telling everyone. Asking for advice without giving all the facts is pointless.
