I feel this is a little expensive for just a Dyno pull.. What have you paid?

Not looking for Dyno Tuning costs. I understand that is timely and costly. Just a simple baseline Dyno run is all I was interested in at this time before I do a cam install.

Plus.. any recommendations in or near NJ that are reasonable I would be interested to know.

Thanks..
$230 for 3 pulls LMAO, That's a friggin major rip off...I got a full custom dyno tune which consisted of a couple baseline pulls, several data logging pulls during tuning process and a couple final tunes after the tune was done for $350 which again included the custom tune. That same shop charges $75 for 3 pulls if you just want straight dyno pulls.

Thanks.. I even checked one more local shop today.. they quoted $150 for 3 pulls. Guess it is just NJ it seems. I'll be skipping for those costs. Would rather put that toward the upgrades unless I can make it to Delaware this weekend.

I guess my question would be who is going to tune the car after the cam install? The reason I ask is because if you are using them for the tune, while they may charge full, $150-$175 or whatever for the baseline, they might discount you on the actual tune, since they already have your baseline info. I know there are/were some tuners in Kansas City that worked that way.

Guess I need to move further south .. Something wrong here.

Good question.. Not fully decided yet.. have a few options and still trying to sort out going solid or hyd.. really want solid but the costs to go that way are not in the budget at the moment where I could possibly squeeze in hyd. Not in any hurry so thought this could hold me a bit or who knows maybe push me finally. Priority is a new kitchen for the wife so have a cloud over my head.

That just sounds like they are trying to cover their own end. If your car blew up on their Dyno they don't want to be responsible for it because they didn't touch it engine wise. However .5 to an hour to look it over seems a bit much. We normally would charge $75.00 for 3 dyno pulls anything more than that is a little ridiculous.

Best regards,

Had my V6 dyno run this past weekend while at a Mustang Dyno day. LOL... yes, that is what I said. I am a member of the club but brought the Camaro out for kicks to see what the 6 would pull. President told me to be prepared for some ribbing... So beat em to the punch and put a temporary banner on that said Honorary Mustang. LOL

Cost was $50 for 3 pulls. But found out afterwards that the dudes had the fan turned around backwards and not cooling the car. Doubt it matters on the 6 but still stupid mistake.

I paid $80 for 3 pulls, and he threw in a 4th run for free.
