Haven't given it a lot of thought, but I would replace it with a built engine that could take the boost/HP. I think a 1200 HP street car would be what I would shoot for.

What clutch do u recommend? I know you are running an auto now. I was looking at the monster clutch triple disc.

Khedge I know you asked the Bam Bam'er about what clutch he recommends, and I am sure he will chime in soon as he sees your question.

Here is my input for what it is worth. About 4 years ago my speed shop (G-Force Motorsports) recommended Centerforce and I currently have the Centerforce Dyad dual disc clutch. My only complaint is the clutch is noisy (chatters) when you push in the clutch at a light. I put the car in manual so I don't have to hear it, or I open the cut outs which also does a decent job of drowning the noise.

I will probably replace the clutch sometime in the near future, and my shop now says that the McCloud RXT is the go to clutch and has been for the past couple of years.

It's going to be pretty much like anything else. You ask 10 folks about which clutch is the best and you will get varied answers based upon their experience.

Diversity is the spice of life

Yea I hear that like choosing between turbos or a supercharger like u have. I have been doing a lot of research on it. The monster clutch is on sale... there is different opinions on everything. I think dereknot has the triple disc I am planning to get and he likes it.

Anyway I have been learning a lot from ur build and others to a point where I will just keep getting my parts together.

I hear ya bro. When you go through trial and error like I did, it gets expensive. It's not that my shop messed up, but more like I would make a 75-100 hp bump and would enjoy it for 6 months then it began to seem slow so I would look for the next 75-100 hp bump on the horizon. At some point the extra hp is not so easy to find and it gets real expensive to grab that extra 100 HP shy of hitting the juice, which is inexpensive hp but I just don't want to go that route.

At least now I have the air part of the build figured out, hopefully. The F-1X is a beast and will support way more HP than I will probably ever want to go.

From where I sit, getting the air supply right is one of the critical components. Get more than you really need or think you will ever want, then just change a pulley and slowly build up the car around it.

Where I am sitting right now, I just have to turn a couple of screws and pull the suction limiting plate and "bingo" there is an extra 100 Hp.

From where I sit its all about the air supply. Get more than you really need or think you will ever want, then just change a pulley and slowly build up the car around it.
Makes sense too me... I’ll just get a little at a time. The big thing is getting the motor built to handle the power the first time

depends on the power level, under 1100 i'd do a mcleod, had a great experience it with. Beyond that can't really successfully recommend anything, i had bad experience with monster triple street disk but hey maybe that was just had bad luck with it.

Thanks for the recommendation. My end goal is 1000rwhp. Was your monster clutch the one with the organic compound? Anyway I’ll give this monster clutch a go. I believe I’ll enjoy it.

Getting the motor built is definitely a core component so you make an extremely good point. Just so happens my build didn't start that way. I added all of the supporting mods around a stock bottom end motor. So at this point I intend to keep mine until something gives. Guess we will see just how tough these LS3's are my friend.

I hear you. It may take me 2 or 3 years but at least it will be done hopefully once. I hopefully Steve Morris engine can get my motor squared away.

Still your build is awesome... I enjoy driving my car with no power mods, I can amagine its hard to keep your foot out of it with 900 plus rwhp.
