Scott, it isn't in any way meant to be charity. It's about something you para phrased. The planets aligning. What is right, and who is deserving. The,"protocol" is understood, but there is no reason the,"right thing" goes left undone. Your epitah for Thor was eloquent and saturated in sadness. I don't think you aspire to write romance novels, I believe the truth of saying goodbye to a damn good friend and the pain in that.

I would happen to agree with you there.

Scott, I tell you the same thing, even though you just say you dont want anything but friendship. We dont do it because we have to we do things & give you things, or what have you. because we want to.

its not just friendship we offer to help out, Its because some of us see you as part of a family, No matter if its not blood related or what, you are still part of the family. to many of us I bet if you ask, many of us see you as a brother, a father figure, & even a grandfather. but even then we still see you as part of our family

some families have the black sheep, some have the evil ones (most people with inlaws) then you have to good side of the family, where when in the time of need everyone gathers around & offers to help out. even though you are strong of mind & stuburn(sorry spelling today suck) & refuse the help, someone will always bethere, to go behind your back & offer to help out.

see ya in Nov dude

You are welcome to visit with Modi anytime you like as well, and he will be coming to visit you in the summer. I had not posted anything yet, as I really couldn't find the right words to use. Instead I wept like a little girl, as I read your postings. I know that Thor is special to a lot of people, but to one person, he has actually become Part of that person. Thor is truely an icon, and will live on forever - no matter what fate has in store for him. Farewell #130, and my car's daddy. We will meet again.

Cars remind me very much of dogs. I always love the one I have and wonder what it would be like without him/it. Then that dog dies or the car gets totaled or sold and you feel sad. But when you get that new dog or car you feel great again.

Im on my 4th Camaro. Ive had a 1991z28, 1980 z28, 1998 ss and now my 2010 ss. I remember my 1991 so well as it was my first performance car. I had to leave it in Hawaii because she was a Chicago car and had been diagnosed with some severe car cancer that I couldnt afford to fix. I let her go for a mere $900. My 1980 camaro was just to get me around when I was home from Hawaii while my mom was going through cancer treatments....the car was totally a POS, and I was its last owner. I would rather drive around a thrashed camaro than an economy car, and she was the one. I junked her after her last mission.

Then I remember when I first saw my 98 ss. I had just gotten divorced and needed to get away from my 02 Grand Am GT.

She had a 4in cowl hood with just a catback. Sebring Silver 6 speed. The guy took me for a test drive and scared the hell out of me. I knew I had to have that car. I planned on keeping her forever. She slowly became the loudest least streetable meanest looking car in the neighborhood. I planned on keeping her forever.

But then I was driving past a podunk dealership and saw my first 2010 Camaro. I knew I had to have one. But, Im no money bags. I had to sacrifice my hard work and love I put into my 98 to obtain enough so I could afford payments on a 2010 ss. I felt so bad selling her until I saw how happy she made the guy I sold her to.

I then bought ...like many of us..(maybe a rare breed) a brand new car without ever testdriving one or even hearing it start in person. And its by far my favorite of my Camaros. Hopefully someday I can get my 98 back. I dont want someone elses work, I want my work and my car that I busted so many knuckles on and banged my head on so many times..ect...ect.

Its a passion for cars that makes it not just a car. My wife doesnt understand, but she accepts it. I met her maybe a week after getting my 98. We have been together for 6 years now, and when we first started dating I though the camaro would be around long after here.LOL.....dont tell her that.

Great story. I feel for you having to give up a "Good Friend". I want to thank you and all the people at GM for creating the TRUE Muscle Car again. I love mine and it is definitely my friend.

They do make it to auction. Some anyway. A couple months ago, I saw a CTF car for sale, "as is no warranty" in Casper, WY at an auto broker. I was surprised to see it. It did have an A90 VIN though, So it had to be CTF. I do hope Thor makes it back to his true owner.
