Oh man, dude I feel for ya. I'm able to garage mine. So I'm lucky. And I don't go anywhere that I have to leave it in a parking lot for more than just a few minutes alone just because I know some fool will key it. All that being said... 3 months after I got the car I parked well away from everyone else at a department store and was only inside for maybe 6 or 7 minutes. When I came out someone had backed into the side of the car where the "gills" are and put a crease and a set of nasty scratches there. I almost threw up when I saw it. Insurance took care of it minus my deductible. It looks as good as new now, (the bill was about $1200 total) but it hurts my insides just to think about it. Best of luck to you getting it fixed.

No, they don't need to drill.

What they do is completely sand down to the bare metal. They then weld a steel rod to the center of the dent and take a puller and pull the dent out as far as they need to then cut the rod and grind it flush with the body panel. They may do this 3-4 times if necessary. When finished they'll bondo the area and sand it then repaint the area.
