When will the 2012s start to roll out? I had to get rid of my Challenger for safety reasons, so I doubt I would have waited.

As for the ride, they seemed about the same. Only when you got on the car hard does the differences show... acceleration, cornering, braking... each has pros and cons.

I find myself missing my SS alot though.

Maybe thats why I won't change my avatar..

I bet a Prius would be even smoother and more quiet.

I didnt drive one but I suspect a v6 w/ RS package would ride the same as the SS. The v6 with the standard wheels probably would be smoother.

Putting a rear veiw camera on a Camaro...whats next? Side mirrors on the space shuttle?!

I have an SS/RS with the 20" aluminum wheels, and yes it rides differntly than a RS with a V-6 without the 20" wheels. Its a bit more doscile, and smother at lower speeds.
My SS smooths out once you hit about 30 or so, and the suspension is remarkable. Very tight and very easy in the turns. The V-6, (dare I say) rides like a Charger. Very smooth and serine, but yet it still gives you that commanding, unbrideled feeling of power. You wont be let down either way.

You probably don't have too much winter weather in Tennessee. The SS and RS has summer tires that aren't designed for temperatures below 40%. The 19" rims and tires on my 2LT work fine all winter long. They don't feel like rocks when the weather is cold.

So if you have a weather beater, the SS or RS will ride fine above 40%. I have a weather beater to run when snow or salt on the road. In St. Louis, I'll probably be driving my weather beater 50% of the time between mid-December and mid-February.

I have an English friend that swears all American cars are like riding on mattresses and pillows. So I suppose it doesn't matter The SS has stiffer suspension and larger diameter wheels. So really the ride would be slightly worse in a straight line. On curves there is definitely less body roll though. So I'd really say the SS has a better ride just because it hugs the ground better. But the V6 would most likely feel more comfortable on bumpy roads.

But get the Camaro for looks and performance and $$ not for its ride quality. If you want a car that's going to ride like butter, buy a Buick
