I had the whine issue as RPMS go up on another Camaro and it was the clutch bearing that was bad. There is no way that sound is normal. Go somewhere else.

I get the same exact noise, and it drives me NUTS! I'm about to take my Camaro in for the HVAC recall, and hopefully they can fix this issue as well.

I was part of the AC reprogram recall. My car never made this noise until that work was done. Now pulling away from a stop as the RPM climbs I have this 'Whirr" sound that climbs with acceleration and sound like a poor mans S/C (i wish it was boost). Also there are times when the cooling seems to stop. Like my car has hot flasshes, one minute blowing cold then the next its warm air form the vents.

I'll check belt myself but I guess it will be another trip to the dealer. This car is losing more and more appeal every time I look at it. Jesus make everyone wait what 5 yrs for the thing to hit the market and then its issue prone? That is just messed up IMO

Same supercharger whine noise here as well , put some CRC belt dressing on all my belts and now it's gone, it also seemed to be heat related. Only heard it when it was near 100 degrees .

Sorry to say this, but you've only just begun your camaro service journey. You'll be a frequent flyer before you reach 10k.

I am at the dealership right now. Will update you all, but I won't be leaving it here unless they can fix it today.

Good news. The service writer was awesome. Got back to me pretty quickly. Bad news - compressor was kaput. Good news - they have one that will be there today, should be fixed today, along with a reset on my radio to fix the iPod crackle issue. I think it will be a good outcome, but I'll let you know. Talked to the technician and he was good, other than dogging me for my taste in music!

good to hear. did you happen to ask if whatever caused it is fixed? Or will you be getting this AC replaced in a yr or two? Mine started after the Recall work on the HVAC was done which concerns me because other than the recall I didn't think I had an issue the AC worked. Dealer touches now it doesn't work as well.

I'll ask about it when I return. I was just giddy that they could get the part and have it ready today. I wasn't going to leave it there for them to park outside in the elements!

I'm sorry to hear about these issues with everyones AC. Hopefully Diane can shed some light as to how the repair went soon! If you continue having issues with getting this diagnosed or repaired let me know and I'll do what I can to help.

The repair did not work, they replaced the compressor and the compressor shaft failed before I even left the dealership. It's too hot for this to happen. The dealership doesn't know why it's happening and is calling for technical assistance from GM. Looks like a bad batch of compressors to me...inconvenient for sure.
