Yah I get that. The price for them doing the full thing without me supplying parts is totally fine with me. But if I bring in the materials, it makes no sense. The pipe is already bent, so essentially it would be just shop time, the cut and weld. I didn't expect it to be A LOT cheaper, but I expected maybe like 80 bucks if I brought the pipe and stuff ready to go.

This is exactly what I did. but the only difference I only paid $60 for my muffler delete.

Okay, so after some research, shopping and penny pinching, here's the direction I will likely be taking now... since I DO eventually plan to do some more performance mods. And I like the sound of the cat-back better than the axle-back.

Do not go with the muffler deletes save your money and get magna/flow masters, either ones are fine! Having both mufflers deleted is going to affect your performance, Reason being is because our Camaros are fuel injected and in that case back pressure is a must!!! not to mention the raspiness and the drone plus the hedache ur gonna get when inside the cabin...

1) You do not lose hp with a muffler delete: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34114

2) It is not raspy at all, it is very deep and throaty. I have heard some full systems that sound super raspy.

3) I do not get a headache and I do not care about the drone, I like it. I actually added high flows and shorty headers and now it is twice as loud. Looking to do long tubes to make it even louder.

Yeah, I've decided I will likely go with the flowmasters cat-back exhaust instead of the muffler delete. It's actually not supposed to create WORSE performance to do a delete. In fact any change is essentially negligible.

I hesitate to go with dynos done with the hood up because ultimately I'd rather know what's going to the wheel and I've heard from a decent amount of folks a little loss of torque with deletes. Either way, money wise and what I have planned for later modifications as well as the fact that I don't just want "LOUD" i want louder but quality sound... has pointed me towards just biting the bullet and doing the cat-back now.

I posted that vid cuz I will probably be doing the American Thunder cat-backs OR getting some custom ones fabricated and just buying the mufflers.

You'll be happy with a muffler delete for now. Save money for a good exhaust later.

Mine was $50 per muffler and $20 to have him cut y old tips and install them on the new pipes. All this at a local shop, completely worth it.

I probably could have found it cheaper than $150, but I called a few places and no one knew what I was talking about lol.

So, is this your way of saying you think the Flowmaster American Thunder cat-back exhaust is bad?

And honestly, while I want it to sound good NOW, spending $150 on a muffler delete to then later do an exhaust is partly making me hesitate because the $150 could go towards the exhaust system or installation if I don't have the time to do it myself.

No, not at all. What I meant to say is, $100-$150 is cheap compared to the $1500 or so you will spend on a full cat-back system (twice as much with headers). If you want to save money now to get what you want, the muffler delete is a great choice.

Yah, that I can agree with. Although it doesn't look like the full cat-back system will cost me that much. I can get it fully installed and done for maybe 800 or 900ish. Maybe cheaper - at least I'm hoping.
