put up some pics and I can tell how well a quality repair would hold up.

For that small difference in price, I'd replace it. You won't have to worry about whether it will hold up down the road that way.

Just saw a tv show on repairing; you have to watch that they replace the material inside the bumper because it is fried as well. For the money, replace it and have piece of mind.

Yeah, the styrofoam should be replaced after an accident, but I doubt it is damaged much from backing into another car.

I was just quoted $850 to replace the stock OEM bumper. $360 for bumper + paint + labor.
Your quote for $475 included a new bumper, paint, and labor? Can you PM or email me the breakdown?

So don't shoot me but I decided to have it repaired. When I looked at the dealer estimate it was for repair not replacement anyway. It looks good, although the owner of the shop told me that if anything hit that spot the paint might crack. We'll see.

I just got the same $850 quote for replacing the OEM bumper cover. I went to a well respected & recommended local body shop. He said a repair job probably wouldn't hold up, but maybe that's only because of the specific damage in my case. Not sure.

I'm going with replacement.
