Any explanations as to why?

I don't see where it would matter other than maybe a strut seal. And even then should be fine.

Just curious.

I agree that for these cars stands are not a good idea. I do use blocks of wood cut to size on my '71 big block Olds to take some of the weight off of the front springs/tires mainly (prevent spring fatigue/ tire flat spotting). Just inflate the tires a bit.

curious....i heard inflating the tires to max PSI and parking the tires on a piece of plywood help prevent flatspots...is it necessary to park on plywood? or just inflate tires and park it on concrete?

Have mine on jack stands with the suspension loaded and the tires in my nice heated basement polished and ready to go.

Dealer parking lots

I beleive that for 3 to 5 months storage it's not necessary to jack the car and if it's in a heated area the car can stand on concrete. Although I've heard in the past that it's a good idea to put it either over some cardboard or a plastic sheet so to prevent the humidity to go under the car.

I don't know if that is proven, but many cars are staying on some dealers parking lots for months and months and it does'nt seem to crate a problem.

I dopark mine on concrete and put a large plastic sheet to prevent moisture to go under the car. I've done that many years with my '79 Vette without any flat spot problem.
