MY SS is still like new after 2 1/2 years and I've never put it in storage.
I've now got all season tires on the Camaro plus I kept a daily driver, but my SS is just to much fun to put away for 3-4 months. IMO of course.
I'm with you ! I just wait for those dry days. I still wash her down and rinse the under carriage every few weeks when temps are above freezing. Been doing this for a long time and never had problems.

I corrected my text.
How about the manual pull for the trunk?

Should get a cool car for the winter, but this year I'll settle for just getting my truck fixed. At least I can turn off liability insurance on the Camaro now.

I might take my car out tomorrow and do some nice drifting on the Nitto's. Get it all salty and give it to the detailer next door.

I don't think the snow's going to come this far south. I'm still waiting 'til next month to put on my winter tires.

Edit: Ah Crap! It's snowing like a bastard right now and I've got to drive about 40 miles home...

You would need to get into the trunk from the back seats. Trunk lid will open only from the remote and the battery has to be connected.

Not that I really worry about doing anything special for winter "storage". I still drive mine all year as long as the roads are semi-clean. The car can be washed and its not going to rust with they way these cars are primed. The paint may be thin but the primer is baked on. People get WAY carried away with these cars... Check this out:

33 years.... only a dead battery and FWIW, this car went through Mecum for $30,000... hardly worth it for not driving the car... I see in 33 years a lot of 5th gen owners say DAMNIT.... I should have just drove the car and had fun back in 2011!

The only thing mine's not ready for is winter. I was planning on putting the winter sneakers on yesterday, but those plans changed. I guess it'll be next weekend. I'll be driving it all winter, and not just the nice, dry days because it's my only car. Yea, it looks nasty covered in salt, but I can wash it when I get the chance.

I'm among the few in MA that didn't get snow (SE coast). Rest of the week's supposed to be nice, so she'll come out a few more days!
