The electronics, BCM and PCM would be the tough part, but the advantage will be huge weight loss. A 3rd gen had iron block and heads. If you went to a LSX you would lose 120lbs off the front end. I fyou go to a LLT you are probably going to lose 160-180lbs.
Change the springs and you would have one hell of a good handling car.
As far as driveline you won't have a porblem LLT only has 273lbft or torque. 5L TPIs have 295lbft.
So you will have a 3200lb car with 312hp. It is going to flat haul butt.

I didnt know the 3.6 would be that complicated to swap in, i though it world be a little more complex everday engine swap. Maybe someday i will do it though!

Also, if no one already saw from tgo, im actually 13. i didnt wanna say anything from the begging as i though people probaly would take any of this seriously.
Yep, 5th gens are IRS, probably the biggest issue in doing this swap. Upside, if you use the m6 rearend, it's the larger one, and all gear sets available for the SS will work.

Motor downside would be the fuel system I would think. The 3.6 is DI, with fuel pressures topping 1400psi at times, 500-700 at idle, with two fuel pumps. It could be done, but I think would be the hardest part of the swap. The ECM would be easy enough as you would have it from the donor car.

If this was to get done, and the 3rd gen would weigh in around 3000 pds, I do think low 13s would be possible. We are seeing high 13s with the basic bolt ons, drop 700-800pds, and you'll be knocking on the door of 5th gen SSs lol!!

Defintly would make for an nice light weight corner carver! I would imagine you could get it to about 2700 if you wanted it absolutely bare bones. I imagine you would need to totally strip out nearly all the interior, make seat(s) light weight racing versions, cut all unecissary metal, carbon fiber hood, lexan t-tops (if you had t-top option), lexan windows (Expecially hatch window), fiberglass or aluminum doors, tear all chassis parts out and replace with nice lightweight bmr/spohn (or whatever you prefere) k member, sways, etc., no ground effects, and all those other little things. i might be crazy but i could see 2500/2600lb if you went absolutely extreme.

WOW put an 2500lb car that is fully built, with an souped up (n/a) 3.6, very aerodynamic (Expecially if you had 91/92 z28 ground effects and spoiler), and I see an car that will take out many many sport cars
