Just because one can be installed on a manual doesn't necessarily make is wise to do it or safe to do it.

Wow, surprised to see this thread popping up again. Well I've had the car for a year now as of July 14th, and I had the remote start put in just about a year ago. I have had absolutely no problems. If your smart with it there is no need to worry. Obviously I don't use just the e-break on hills, hence not being able to even set the remote start to on when leaving the car. The remote shows when I set the start and am able to use it, so you can't even forget that you did or didn't set it. If it's not set, it just won't start. I usually only set it when I know I'm going to want to start it before I get in like a hot or cold day when I get to work or home. Funny that people still get upset about this though!

As per the other post for numb skulls........this was is my response...............

A remote start on a manual car is in the show " A thousand ways to die", and a real good reason for no insurance company to ever pay a claim if they found out you equipped one.....And yes the fool runs over hisself with his remote start truck....

I was thinking about doing something like this but not anymore. This just seems to complicated to deal with everytime you want to drive your car. All that money can be used for mods that actually help.

I have had an auto start in a standard for over 10 years.
Dont fret it. It works fine.

okay yes we get it.

if i take the magazine out of my HK and pull the trigger but forget to clear the round in the chamber, it'll go off.

if i forget to put the gas cap back on my suburban and run it for two weeks without it on, the check engine light will come on.

if i leave my front door open when i leave my house for the day, i will probably get robbed.

all the points you are making are solely user errors, just like my examples above. basically youre saying if you **** up, you ****ed up. which is pretty obvious. and that was only page 1; didnt go to 2 or 3.

anyways OP, i am interested in doing this myself, i have never once in my life parked my 6MT in gear, so i wont need liability insurance for this matter like mr. james has suggested. how much did it run you altogether.
