I have to change my vote, now that you mention it I noticed it is a bit rough at idle. Nothing really noticeable unless you think about it. Oh and thanks for making me think about it.

If you owned one, you probably know that it was not an American motor

Just picked mine up yesterday, and yes it has a slightly rough idle, and I love it...definitely the cam shaft, it's awesome.

I didn't read all the responses and jumped to the end. Is your car a manual ? The LS3 with the 6M is a high performance engine, and some high perfomance engines run rought. If it has a manual transmission to does not have a torque converter to absorb the vibrations as much like the L99.

I test drove both the L99 A6 and the LS3 M6 a few times (oh and the V-6 A6). I'll tell you there is a difference in the feel of the idle and the feel of the car. The LS3 feel more like a muscle car with that idling rumble. For all you L99 owners I'm not saying an L99 is not a high performance engine, it's just the LS3 is a tiny bit more of an animal. Mine is an L99 and runs smooth, but tics a lot. That will be the next thing you will ask here "does your engine tic?"

Camshaft Specs - 204/211 .551/.525 117

These numbers are why the LS3 engine shakes at idle. Here is some reading material for those interested.

That 'rough idle' is just the beast begging to be unleashed.
