Thumbs up would not be construed as flirting.

Waving is a 50/50.

Jumping out of your car and running around the other car screaming awesome would be considered 100%.

If I do notice someone looking and we make eye contact, I'll just give the nod. I guess a full on wave or a smile seems a bit too flirty to me, and I'm not conservative, believe me lol. If they wave or smile first, then I will definitely give one back in return. I will give the half wave thing from the steering wheel when passing another Camaro also.

Had an older guy come up to me at the gas station yesterday while giving the love of my life it's first fill-up, he asked how much I paid (in a half-joking manner) so I obliged him then we started talking about it. I let him look inside of it etc, he was quite impressed and said it was the 1st time he had been so close to one. Getting ready to leave, I noticed a younger kid/guy sitting in his truck on the other side of the pump, waiting for me to leave. I guess he wanted to hear what it sounded like, he never looked at me though, just stared at the car lol so I didn't acknowledge him, just left.
Yes, absolutely agree with all of your "procedures", I usually do the same.

Had a girl give me thumbs up. No problem. I acknowleged her back. If you wave or whatever and some "tool" thinks you're flirting. He needs to go back to the cellar in his parents house.

Just realize guys that just because a lady doesn't smile or wave at you doesn't mean she doesn't appreciate you and your car. She's probably just being cautious like most of the ladies here are.

But I am like you guys....I love it when someone gives me a .
Yes, I like the method. Actually, the other day, I heard a big rig horn from across several lanes, looked over, and he was giving me a BIG for my car, and I did back at him. He smiled and drove on, very nice!

I agree with the tinted windows option. I always get dark tint on my vehicles as it gives me more power in controlling a friendly gaze versus a stalker like gaze. Some people I do not want to make eye contact with while stopped at a red light, especially if they look at bit creepy and your instinct tells you they are admiring more than the car. That way you can still roll down the window and throw your thumbs up if you choose too, OR stay hidden behind the tint without seeming rude to those that may be trying to catch your attention.

I've had a lady driver stop next to me, point at the car and when I looked to her face to smile she gave the thumbs up. Made my day and there was no mistake she was acknowledging the car.

Coming back from the Stillen meet, we were in stop-n-go traffic in LA w/ Hubby driving.

I happened to glance to my right, and the lady was make funny hand signals. Rolled the window down, and she said "I was going to ask what car that was, but I see that it's a Camaro. Beautiful car!" Said Thank you, and watched her try to keep one eye on the car in front of her and one on the Camaro. Made parking lot traffic a little more bearable.

If that's you in the pic. You need to be careful and use your judgement. Because their are a lot of kook's and knuckel heads out there. They just may misinterped your wave. Oh! did I say your very pretty.

Haha we both know that's not going to happen. I will stop looking at anyone before I get rid of this car.

I like to use a complex system of gang signs. Ones that I made up myself.
