(87 octane $3.70) 140miles x 20 days= 2800 miles a month/26mpg average = 107.69 gallons a month ($398.45 for 1 month)
(89 octane $3.90) = $419.99 for 1 month
(91 octane $4.00) = $430.77 for 1 month

The difference between 87 and 89 is $24.10 per month = $289.20 per year.
The difference between 87 and 91 is $34.87 per month = $418.44 per year.

This only takes my work commute into account, not weekend use which can add 200 miles per weekend. Or fluctuating fuel prices.

I don't know about the rest of you but that is some significant change to me, suspension upgrade or heck, even a car payment.

1/4 tank left. By Sunday I'll be trying 93.

Dude 9.5 degree's is not considered pulling timing.
I get 33 MPG Highway on 87 only.
The V6 is direct injected, cooling the cylinders down eliminating ping or knock.
You are wasting your money!

I have used 87, 89, 92 octane. Out of the three 89 for some reason disagrees with my automobile. 92 seems to me as the best, this is probably placebo effect. So I am going to waste .20 cents per fill up that is 1.60 extra each fill up (tank at half full 8 gallon fill up times .20 equals 1.60). I fill up four times a month 6.40 times 12 months 76.80 per year. Yea I am going to waste $76.80 per year.

Um, you are sitting at idle there. Run it up to about 6750rpms going down the road with 87 then repeat with 93. Then post the different images before making assumptions.

Mine just runs smoother with 89 octane. Worth it for that alone

I see the Octane police are out in force. Sure glad I can turn the nannies off on the car.
