Hawaii is a front plate required state ad well. Also having the plate on the front dash displayed is technically is a citeable offense (obstruction of view). That is if you really piss the officer off.

Does it seem frivolous ? Yes, but remember, police are LAW ENFORCEMENT, not just crime fighting super heros that catch the bad guy. If the law says you need front plates, its THEIR job as LAW ENFORCEMENT to ENFORCE that LAW. Its not an abuse of power when you are within you lawful order and doing what you have been SWORN to do, enforce the law, EVERY LAW, from murder and rape, right down to no front plates, and J-walking.

If your gonna risk breaking a law, understand you may get caught some day...

No front plate, eh? HMMMM.... They can give tickets while parked in some areas here in Oregon also... I always have mine on.

Just another way for the city to generate money. Pathetic but thats how the legal system works. How can we make MORE money? By issuing stupid tickets. kind of like the red light cameras. Dunno bout other states but here in Louisiana, we DONT have to pay red light camera tickets because theyre not affiliated with law enforcement. its just a dumb company trying to make money. Same thing would be for me to stand outside on a road with a radar gun issuing ppl tickets for speeding. You simply dont pay the ticket, then call your credit bureau to remove it because legally they cant keep this on your credit report which is what happens if you dont pay the ticket.
