exactly, and pulling 2 cars ahead from 115-125 in that short time is great lol.

Duh. Those things can't go farther an 1/4 mile because they blow up. So if you race them for 5 miles, you'll win.

I'm just telling you what happend. Don't care if you believe me or not but once a stock M6 LS1 car reaches those speeds, it takes a lot longer to pull even higher, especially against a supercharged car that is just stretching it's legs.

If the cars are within a few tenths of one another then yes it is.

The Camaro would kill it on a road course.

Also if the driver of the top fuel car messed up and hit the wall the Camaro could win. A few years ago when I had my 2006 Mustang GT and It was 100% stock on my first trip to the strip. I cut a good light and beat a C5 Z06 that cut a poor light and missed a shift (or maybe two. lol) and a few weeks ago I ran my wifes 2010 GT against a stock 2010 GT500. I got a .4 sec holeshot and hooked up way better than him. I was ahead of him at the 1/8. But he flew by me at the top of the track. Out in the real world anything can happen.

Anyone catch the August issue of Road and Track? It irritates the hell out of me when people come to the conclusion based on opinions or poor driving skills. They rated the Mustang GT higher than the SS for a number of things that could easily be attributed to two guys who don't know how to drive, and that they like Mustangs. Not to mention they compared the '10 model SS (and V6) to the '11 model GT (and V6 Mustang).

When are we going to see a REAL showdown between the two? I want to see ONE driver who takes both cars for 6 months or what ever time period... learn to drive it, and then really hit the track and road and judge them.

I read it as well. It looks like the mustang 5.0 is gonna have tuning issues due to the limits its at stock. Where as the LS GM's have limitless potential. We shall see.

I just couldn't bring myself to even read the rest of the issue. There's absolutely no neutrality in the review/comparison. It was very one sided.

Let them put some 3.73 gears into an SS and run them again. Those 3.43's in the Camaro add a couple of tenths to the 1/4 mile times. They could also put 3.43's into the Muskrat and run them again. The part that pisses me off the most were the comments about the styling getting old fast. I am not sick of looking at mine yet. I have had it since 5/20/09. I think that the Muskrats are bland.

Stop complaining about "they compared a 2010 to a 2011!!!"

The Camaro didnt change performance wise between 2010 and 2011, so from a raw performance point of view, the 2010 and 2011 are interchangable.

These cars were stock for stock..and the 2011 GT came out on top.
