I got the V6, its what I wanted and made more sense as a daily driver. That being said, my secret plan is to give this one to my wife when the Z28 comes out and my kids are out of college and out of my hair!

3 years till they graduate! Then all my money and time are my own!

Another consideration is at our age, our living circumstances could change awfully quick. Part of the reason I got the V6 was also that I was looking to buy a house not long after. I have it now, and it's awesome - a new house, a new Camaro, and enough money left over to be perfectly liquid as my bank account recovers. The extra $5,000 I didn't put into an SS became part of my down payment, and I regret none of it. And then of course there's relationships, marriage, children... you want to have enough put aside to be able to support all those obligations, WITHOUT having to sell the car to do it.

My LS comes in at $10,000-$15,000 less than an SS (and I can use it year round, not just in nice weather).

That ain't no small change. That's several hundred $$ a month more ...

Soooo the LS is an all season car while the SS is just a nice weather car?

I'm sorry but that is just a "little more" to me. Maybe I should have been clearer and just stated that I would much rather pay more for a car that will make me happy rather than settle for something less than what I want. I'm not telling the OP to put himself in debt which is why I told him to go for the SS if he could afford it. There is nothing worse than buyers remorse.

i can only say this. i bought the v-6 because thats what i wanted. i know i would do a few thigs to it but it what i wanted. i have done i few things to it and i could not be happier. in fact i was telling my wife just yeserday that i was glad i did not buy the ss. so with thta being said and you can save a little longer for the ss and thats what you want then save and get what you want. if the ls is what you want then buy now and do what you want with it on you time and pocket book. just think of this if you buy an ls and later you say i should have got the ss then you will spend more mony tading in you ls and getting the ss, but for me i love my 1lt. and the only other thing i would say is you cant put a sunroof in a ls only lt and above. if you where to think about a sunroof.

Another thing to notice is that plenty of guys here bought a V6 and are happy with it, but you do hear a few around here saying they wish they got the V8. I've not heard one guy with a V8 say they wish they had got the V6.

I agree, if your budget allows it then go for an SS. If your not comfortable with payments that high then the V6 will be fine and allow for plenty of fun

You should be able to check with your insurance agency and get a quote for how much your insurance will be.

Today's V6, as mentioned before, has more power than older V8s(2000 Z28).

I prefer the V8, but you can't go wrong with any model Camaro!

And If you work yourself to death paying it off, at least you owned a Camaro before you died.
