Did anyone read the first post before the bitching started! First of all, It was an assistant that said it cracked under high speed testing... an ASSISTANT to the photo shoot that probably had no clue! It could be that this ONE car was damaged during shipping the car to different test facilities! It could be that it was discovered early on and that's why so many of us have been on QC hold for so long! Now, IF you develope cracks in the nose while you have the car, I'm sure you'll have them before the warranty runs out and if you are still worried about it, ask your dealer if it is covered under warranty.... get it writing if necessary! Complain about it if and ONLY if it happens to your car!

Warning...This vehicle will self destruct at 156 MPH!

Way back in the early 70's, my Cajun industrial arts teacher would say if he saw this, Get the glue!

I can for sure say the daytona 500 pace car has hit 155 several times. So we know of two for sure. And gm does windtunel as well as high speed testing.

So any issue would have been noted.

Yea I know typically they don't. But the Daytona car was doing high speed runs around the Daytona track as well as the Texas track driven by Jimmy Johnson. I don't know just a thought

I hope some new owners test this and respond on this thread. Would be better to know this isn't just an isolated occurance.

Eh? What about headwinds and material fatigue over a few years (as Nine Ball Ghost Rider, and Hylton {among others} mentioned)?

If folks don't bitch, GM won't fix it -- they may not even find out there's a problem. If there's problems, they REQUIRE bitching!

Waiting vs getting right away? Waiting after ORDERING a car vs "waiting for the right time" which is apparently what you're doing are two COMPLETLY DIFFERENT THINGS.

I guess this is what happens when you combine 40 year old design elements with modern construction.

This could be all it is and just a slight loosening of the nuts holding the front facia on could cure the problem.
That sounds plausible. Anyone else want to add to that?

Yup. Something stiff and pre-formed, like some fiberglass or metal braces; or maybe even something liquid applied like epoxy or, well, fiberglass.

I wonder, if there's a recall and they replace it, how much will it cost them to replace people's clear bras?

I don't know. I have had a brand new vehicle that is built for performance, but when you take any car at 155mph, things happen. First time I hit 155mph my wheel well caved in on me, and by no means was this a car that was not bult good. If you are traveling at these speeds and expect not to be fixing your car, I think you definately are going to be bummed out. GM has tested these cars at high speeds I assure you, and to act like GM is the only one to release a car to find there is a issue after the fact. Well you have been very misinformed. Yes GM should look into this, but let's stop being unrealistic. You play you pay and that is rule of thumb with fast cars. The responses in this post are over the top. Find me a any model that did not have issues the 1st year, there always is! And to say that GM should have found this before release as if the testing they did was not substancial enough to find flaws, gimme a break. There is constructive critisism, and there is just plain old bitchin, and bitchin is alot of what I see in this thread. If it keeps happening and GM does nothing then by all means bitch, but until then you need to be realistic in your demands!

Based on that second set of pictures, I don't see this being an isolated incident.

Here comes the next 6 week QC hold..

it's first year bugs, and they will be fixed. so stop complaining about how gm put out a car with such a defect. you begged them to release the car, they did. like I said they were damned if they did damned if they didn't. can't please people.
then only put 70 on the speed omoter
