Weird Door Lock Issue - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Whenever I park my car and lock it I always hit the remote once to lock and then a second time the horn will sound as an audible cue.

Periodically I will shut my door and hit the lock button once and the doors lock and then when I hit it the second time the horn will not sound and the locks just make noise like they are trying to lock again. If I unlock and open the door that was opened and shut it again with maybe a little more force the horn will sound the second time I hit the lock button.

Any ideas??

I had the reverse of that happening (set to not honk, but it did). Something is flakey.

Mine does that occasionally, I chalk it up to a glitch and just close the door again.

Thought it might be a door adjustment issue but both doors do it so I doubt that is it.

The times when the horn doesn't sound, are you hitting the lock button twice in a row? If you wait even a few seconds, it'll lock w/o horn. Try it two times consecutive vs. once, 5-10 sec, then second press.

Iam sure its not the door......if anything, the little switch could be sticking a little, and shutting the door harder is only shaking it, just it bothers you and you are not sure its doing its job. the nest time it happens, just try to open the door, after you had hit the door button twice, the alarm should go off......and don't worry about it.
