Very confused about traction control...

I am out at a strip racing my 2010 Camaro SS automatic and am on my phone so sorry if the formatting of this mesage is not quite right...

I am very confused as to what mode the "traction control" should be in that is best for drag racing.
If I turn everything completely off (hold the button down for 7 seconds), the car spins the tire at the line, butt only one tire spins (a "one-wheel peel").
If I push the button twice and it goes into "competition mode", the tires spin but the computer sees that and seems to bog down the motor..
I have not tried tappingit only once..

What mode are you guys using??

Competition mode is the best.
You might be launching too hard and it's causing your tires to spin more than they should. Or you might be rolling on the waterbox.
Avoid the water and use competition mode. Build your RPMs to about 3500 and launch.

Jannetty Racing has the fix for the "one wheel spin". The stock rear diff clutch paks are so weak they can wear after one burnout. Has nothing to do with the traction control

Where were you racing? A couple of us were at Fontana today too. Anyways, I have had the best luck taking both TC ans SC off by holding the button in for 7-10 seconds. Were you running on the stock tires or DR's? If you are on the stock tires take off from idle and roll into the throttle more and more every run until you get wheel spin then back off a little. On DR's I can't stall it past 2K or it wheel completely fry the tires off.

I don't think you can brake stall an auto that high on the stock converter.

I've always had great luck just turning off the Traction Control and leaving the transmission in D (Drive). You can also drop down to M (Sport).

But I've always left everything else on (I just turn off TC)

But let the computer do the shifting unless you're a pro at using the tap shifts.

The stock Pirellis are summer tires and like to be warmed up a bit (from my experience). Go around the water box and do a nice little dry burnout (clean the tires and warm them up a bit). I used to just mash the gas and spin the tires for 20 ft or so and then stage the car.

To launch, I rev to around 1000 rpms (brake stall) and then roll quickly into the gas to launch. If you're spinning your tires on the launch, roll slower into the gas to launch (don't floor it).
