Is there going to be an updated interior for 2012? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I remember reading a while back some rumblings about the possibility of an updated interior for 2012 (mainly to catch up to the interior of the 2011 mustang). Now it appears the 2012 interior is unchanged from prior years with the 2012 Camaro wearing the same interior.

Is there any chance we will see an updated camaro interior before the next model?

The 2012 will have a 6 way power passenger seat. So thats a start

I have been waiting on the Z28 (now ZL1) so today is great news, but I've just never been a big fan of the interior on the camaro and was hoping for some changes.

As you can see in the pictures in the other threads, the new 2012 Camaros (as seen on the ZL-1) will have a new steering wheel and a revised dashboard with a new trim insert in either Cloth, Leather, or Suede (Alcantara). Oh, and a different bezel around the center HVAC vents. Minor changes. I personally like the simplicity of the current 2010-2011 models, not to mention the current steering wheel.

The ZL1 has many new features like what appears to look like suede leather on the dash face, steering wheel and seats.

don't worry, I bet they'll have plenty of squishy dash for you to rest your head on when you are sleeping in your car. I mean so many reviewers complained about it. I'm sure that's one thing they changed even though you can't see it in the pictures.

The did with the Camaro what they did with the Corvette in 2006. With all the complaints about the steering wheel, instead of redesigning it they went straight to the parts bin and got the steering wheel out of the Sonic and Cruze.

I agree about the steering wheel. It does not scream "performance" it screams "bubbly safe minivan"

But EVERYTHING else screams performance on that car. I

wish they had kept the word "CAMARO" on the steering wheel at least. I know I'm driving a Chevy, I don't need to be reminded. But I do want to be reminded that I am driving a "CAMARO" and not an Aveo. Or they could've put "ZL1" on the steering wheel.

But besides the steering wheel, I want every one of the exterior and interior upgrades.

I don't like the new steering wheel, it does look like it came from the cruze parts bin,
but did anyone notice that the ZL1 has the power locks button on the arm rest but it also has the current one on the stereo/climate control piece, this kind of makes me think that the production 2012's will have something different as a radio/climate piece.
