Gas Mileage

I have a 2011 2LT and the gas mileage is horrible. I have 6K miles and my mileage is about 22 mpg on the road and just slightly less in town. Any opinions on why so low on highway.

No mods have been made as yet.

Thanks for any help.

Try to keep the RPM's below 2000 at all times and that will give you great gas mileage.

Wow, 22......I get that on my 2SS with headers, catback and cold air. Id say something is wrong either lighten up on your foot or go get it checked out.

GAS MILEAGE??? What is that ???

If you drive it like Ms. Daisy, then I'm sure you can hit the advertised 29mpg. But the best I ever got was about 25mpg on road trips. But I usually average about 18mpg during my normal driving.

But I drive it the way it SHOULD BE DRIVEN! LOL just playing.... but seriously

I think 22 is pretty good for highway and city combined.
I have 20k miles on mine, haven't reset the DIC in about 8k miles and I'm averaging 22.8. I'm quite happy with that.

What were you expecting to "average" with a 312hp, 3,800 lb vehicle?????????

Go on the highway, get it up to 65mph and reset the DIC. You'll probably get 30 mpg for a short time, if that makes you feel better.
Your gas mileage @ 22 is not unreasonable at all.

Damm 22 is pretty good. I average 16mpgs highway and city but I have a heavy foot. But on long roadtrips I have gotten it up to 28mpgs.

I have a 1LT and during normal driving during the week I get between 22-24. On a solid road trip I get about 25-29. It just depends on what speed you drive and how fast you get to that speed. The best I have gotten on a trip was 28.2 mpg.

When on the hwy I get 31 MPG, but in the city I get about 16 MPG, but it is all very short trips with a lot of stop and go.

?!?

I did whole interstate trip (460 miles on one tank) Filled it up with roughly 16 gallons... so I got 28 MPG... how da heck are you getting 36?!

I wouldn't think the 55 mph thing would have a huge impact.

I average around 21MPG in my LS. If i reset on the highway in 6th i'll get 29MPG easy, using cruise control seems to help and it keeps me from speeding
