L99 Spark Plug Change

I'm going to change the spark plugs on my L99. I have a few questions though.

1) What is the torque spec for the spark plugs?
2) Should I use anit-seize?
3) Anything else I need to do or any other tips?

Thanks!

Whats wrong with the plugs you have, they are 100K plugs. I would not worry about changing them till 50-75K.

I replaced mine last weekend while installing my Stainless Works Headers. I went with the AC-delco's 41-110. factory iridium's. Ted Jennetty tells everyone these are probably some of the best plus for N/A cars. I did use anti-seize and I always tighten my plus by hand and then snug with a 5/8 plug socket.

use anti seize.. ac delco 41-110, tr55IX, weaponX iridium.. etc
they are all the same even a $14 set of NGK tr55's
the more expensive plugs last longer.. proper gap is the usual issue with plugs
an engine doesnt know what plug is in it...LOL

From the shop manual:

20 Newton meters (15f t lbs).

Anti-seize not mentioned.

Why are you changing the plugs???????!!!!!!!!!

I don't use anti seize with aluminum heads, torque spec is 15 ft lbs. In a stock L99/LS3, I use NGK TR55's, with a power adder or added compression I use NGK TR6's and gap them accordingly based on the engine combination. If you have a cam and aftermarket heads, and your still naturally aspirated but raised your compression, you can make more power on a TR6 plug than a TR55 because you can run more ignition timing. I tested this more than once and was able to get 4-5 rwhp gains doing so.

I always use anti-seize when I change my plugs. I used NGK TR55's or TR6's on my LS1 engine. I was not sure they would work on the L99 engine. I still have a set of TR55's. I gap mine at .040. I have not changed mine yet on my 2011. I usually change my plugs once a year.

Good luck. Hope they are easier on the L99 than on my old LS1. It looks like you have more room.

I would never wait that long to change my plugs. I change mine every year or about 15K. But I also change my oil every 3 to 5K miles.

So two votes for anti-seize one against...

15 lb-ft. Thanks!

I'm switching back to the AC Delco 41-110 long life factory plugs from my TR6 plugs. I was also seeing some misfires (when using the scan tool) on cold startups (under 40 degrees).
