Royal Purple, who is running it?
Well I decided to give it a shot this weekend and did an oil change with it. Boy she really wraps up faster and the engine is sounding smoother.
How many other Royal Purple users are there are out there? How many miles do you run between changes with it and are using any of their other products? |

My husband uses nothing less on both of our cars. (He owns a G35) His entire family are car people, there must be a reason why he uses EVERYTHING royal purple. I haven't had any other oil in the car, so i wouldn't know the def in how it runs.

Been on my 2002 camaro since new. I can't see the difference. Suppose to be better for Camaros with the SLP package.

I think this is another "to each his own" type situation. I have heard good and bad things about RP and changing from Mobil 1. The one thing I heard was the RP was not even a full synthetic motor oil but more of a blend. Dont know if this is true or not but a mechanic (non GM dealer) told me to stick with Mobil 1 and not change it out.

I've been running it since I got my 2001 SS, 85,000 miles when I switched over, I'm at 87,000 now. Can't tell any difference really, but I've never had any issues. Royal Purples test car was a 2000 SS that gained about 8 Horsepower from a full RP fluid swap. So I go by that as my reasoning for using it.

Personally I think it is inferior to Mobil1. IMO Royal Purple engine oil is at the bottom of the list of boutique oils. It does not play well at all with flat tappet engines but seems to do better in roller engines. It doesn't hold up for crap in a diesel.
