Smallest widest rim that we can run on an SS

Hello everyone, I am hoping someone knows this info. I am trying to find out what rims I can run. It looks to me that I could run an 18" from some of the posts here, but does anyone know what the width I can run is? I am looking at a few on ebay that are c6 Z06 wheels. some are 9.5 and some are 10.5. Just wondering if I can run either. Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

I need to get some Drag Radials, after my super poor showing at the track Friday night.

Thanks
JR

You can run either of those as long as its the right offset. I run 18x11 on the rear.

Do you happen to know what the correct offset would be for either the 9.5 or 10.5's?

It's been mentioned a lot on here, just search it. I want to say it was 40 mm. Most Vette wheels are like 53 or 58, so be careful that you buy the right ones.

Most Vette rims are 54, you need a +40 to fit the rear. The only Vette rims that have that offset are C6 grand sport, Z06 and ZR1 front rims. I made the mistake of getting C5 Z06 rear rims with a +56 offset and they didn't fit without a spacer.

Several guys here in h-town are running the C5 Z06 rear wheels in 18 x 10.5 with a 53mm offset. This offset fits perfect on the rear with a 305/45/18 or a 305/35/18 and no spacer required. You do however need to zip-tie the e-brake cables back a bit.

There's at least 9 or 10 Camaros here with that set-up and mine is coming in this week sometime

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. Now I just need to find a good place to get the new rims from.

Well here is what I ordered, hopefully it all fits with no issues

Rims - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004SN7ZWQ

You ordered the wrong wheels. Those have a 56mm offset you will will need to run a spacer on the rear and spacers are not safe, especially for any kind of racing.

Which wheels then? I'm looking to buy something this week for racing the first two saturdays next month. Almost pulled the trigger on the 17" welds yesterday, but really can't afford that ~$3000 right now. Looking to get some 18's and MT ET Street Radial II's.

I've seen people posting about vette replica wheels, but can't find anything with the correct offset, and am still unsure about the bolt pattern, as many people say the extra .65mm is too much to fit correctly.

I fit these with 295/45 nitto NT05s on all four corners.

They did well at this past weekend's Autox. It was my first one.

Well, that sucks, I am going to try and fit them, just to make sure. But if they do not work, I'll place an order for these. Assuming they will work.

Those would work a lot better. With such a tall tire as the 305/45 18 your wheel/tire combo may bolt up fine but will more than likely rub when you take corners.
