Was your top fixed right the first time?

I just had a thought after browsing the forum again. Has anyone that has had top issues had it fixed on the first try? I know I haven't as the TSB's keep changing and that Chevy does not have a fix in yet. Guess what I am getting at is anyone happy with the fix they got the first time around.

Thoughts?

Uh.... no. on top #3 and 6 service visits to fix what was poorly done the first time. The rub marks are gone but now its a battle with the water management system. One side gets fixed and the other fails ? GM rep even admitted to my service rep that the design is not the greatest.
I still love driving the car and wouldn't trade it unless they give up trying to fix it.

CRAP! I thought you had a success story? Was looking forward to having mine fixed correctly the first time.

I had the 8/15 TSB fix and it seems to be working. Have not had the top replaced yet, waiting for trim shops to get more experience.

The rub marks are fixed! The water management was a fallout from having the top on and off so many times. I am hopeful this will be the end. I do believe the TSBs now fix the rub problem. The install need to be monitored.

From a very reliable source, the GM Field Engineers (US and Canada) will have a meeting in Detroit the first week of december. From what I learned, the top issues is supposed to be one of the major topics.

I'm curious to see what the TSB will be after this meeting.

Not really rhetorical. I was just curious if anyone had them fixed right the first time. Not that they should even have to be fixed. The only resolution I see is a complete re-engineer and retrofit our tops with that fix.

No, top was not fixed 'right first time'. Immediately after replacement I trimmed all the brackets and moved headliner screws and this stopped the top pinching. I get a VERY slight rub mark when top is left down but its really not an issue.

I got the passenger side rear wind noise but this has diminished greatly since replacement. I may have the dealer look at it in the spring to see if they have a decent, easy fix for it that doesn't screw anything else up.

I had bow #5 replaced in mine. Dealer had a little trouble getting the part from GM so it was gone for 2 weeks. Just picked it up yesterday. The fix seems to have worked so far, however, both the service writer and I agree that it may happen again once I start using the top on a regular basis in the spring. I'll keep my fingers crossed, hoping that I never have the problem again... I'm just glad I got it back

Nope!!! Not only is it not fixed right (excessive wind noise & doors (windows) hit the top when opening now), the trim shop poked 2 holes into my headliner. I have not tried to put the top down since I got it back in fear of not being able to get it to go back up.
