V6 header questions

I was wondering what kind of sound i would get from mid/long tube headers. I have a '01 v6 with a 3" cat-back system going in a Magnaflow muffler with 3 1/2" tips. It has a nice deep/low tone to it but i am wondering how headers will effect the sound. I've been listening to some videos on youtube but i would like some better advice. Would removing the cat give it a better tone also?

Shorties are you only option, nobody makes long tubes.
Btw 00-02 got tublar mainfold so you not going to notice a big difference in sound or HP.

That's a negative..

Technically aren't shorties but they aren't true LTs either. There's other companies out there if you look, not many, but a handful.

I have the pacesetter's and there shorties, rksport no longer makes there shorties, clear image still makes them but very expensive and eBay has obx, pascestter knock offs. FFF was the only company to make lt's and only made 10 sets at $800 no y pipe. I'm on evey v6 fbody fourm, don't belive what I say just check.

Even on mine and I went form the log style mainifolds the sound only got a little deeper, nothing to brag about, it sounded the best when it was open y pipe back on the way to have my Borla welded back on.

Alright i think ill just keep mine the way it is then. My buddy keeps telling me that removing the cat will also make it sound better. Would it really make that much of a difference?

I removed mine, but we don't have emmisson here, if that matters where you live, and it
made it a tad louder and seem to make the throttle response better, I don't know if it works the same on yours since your throttle is computer control.

Alright, I think I'll just keep my exhaust system the way it is then. Thanks for the help!

Shorties - Mids - Long Tubes

You could always just pull the cat off and remove the catalyst material and put the converter back on. This way it will pass a visual inspection.
